Well, I know there's at least one other 5th wheeler on the forum but they seem a bit rare; apart from my avatar photo, here's our rig - fully built in Aus, and now our permanent home since we sold everything 2 1/2 years ago. No regrets whatever, it's a wonderful life! And even cheaper since we started property-sitting - we're currently a little north of Geraldton, WA, until the end of July. If anyone's in the area, call in and say 'hello'.
And yes, the Mazda BT-50 DOES pull the van comfortably, much to the surprise of many other travellers!

Very grand Andrea. A reasonable size without being overwhelming and imposing. There's one here in the park which is Amercian for a start, and HUGE, and has to be towed with a 4 tonne truck. I can't wait to see how they're going to get it out of where it's parked. Sometimes bigger isn't better.

It still seems huge at times, CG, but when hitched up we're only 12.5 m long, shorter than a lot of caravan combos; I think that the 3.2 m height makes it look bigger. And we've not been unable to get where we want to yet - in fact, some other SC owners, including the the owner of Southern Cross himself, have taken their rigs to places we find quite alarming! But then again, we need to make this last a LONGGG time - there won't be any real estate again.

My partner and I are very much into tent camping. I seem to keep buying more and more equipment. Got to the point where I had to buy a trailer to store it all. I like it though because we can just hook it up in a moments notice and take off.
Our tent is a blackwolf. Weve have good teamwork and collectively we have it all set up in just over 12 minutes.
Ive bought more gear, so I needed yet more storage. Just fitted a rack on top of my trailer.

The camping trailer looks good. Great size tent also. My daughter and son in law have bought themselves a camping trailer while I've been away. Haven't seen it yet. Its the one with the bed on the trailer I think.

Thanks for the welcome & the positive remarks on our van everyone. The van is 17ft 6in, & the interior panelling is in Tuscan Suede. We have the bug now & have just bought another van that was alongside us at Mallacoota, another big reno coming up. Give Butch something to do when he retires soon.

Yes, she is around that vintage - she's a Regal compact delux tourer - only about 12 feet long so I suppose that's where they get the "compact" bit from. She is off getting fixed at the moment - I managed to get the awning caught in a tree when trying to reverse into a driveway and didn't know it and when I drove forward ... well there was a loud crash and there were bits sticking out all down one side!!
