Yes, I can see why you might say that, but it's not him. Though the Labor party holds them both in similar (low) regard I think.

Sorry ... Not Joe.
This guy was a NSW Chief Justice at on stage & later Knighted. That clue might focus your googling.
He held himself in high regard IMHO. Perhaps more royal than the Royals.

It would be Sir John Kerr.
He also had a fabulous time one year at the Melbourne Cup.

Well done. Sir John Kerr it is.
The photo came from his Autobiography "Matters for Judgement".
I had to force myself to read it all the way through, but that was no different to Kevin Rudd's and Tony Abbot's attempts. Thankfully I only paid $1 each for them at the local Salvo store.
Over to you DMaxer

Not a problem. Glad to oblige.
This one is much easier.
This guy was one of my Heros when I was working only 22 years ago.
I actually saw him in Sydney .. can't remember the year but about 1996.

The board behind him is loaded with clues about what he was famous for.
He had a lot to do with Japan's economic recovery post WW2. Look at the nationality of those guys peeping around the side of the blackboard.

Well done. That's him.
Reading his much acclaimed book "Out of The Crisis" (only one of 21 that he published) of which I have a signed copy, started me on the Quality approach to Operations Management. He was certainly a Hero & Pioneer of Quality Thinking.

I'd never heard of him, so couldn't work out what the three little guys around the corner had to do with anything. I could tell he was a Yank, [Haircut.], and they were Asian, but that was it for me. I was only about 3 or 4 at the time I think.

Has to be Olive Pink (Olive Muriel Pink Botanic Gardens)
Miss Olive Muriel Pink, who founded the Australian Arid Regions Flora Reserve here in 1956. A prominent anthropologist, Miss Pink had lived in the Tanami Desert for more than 30 years before moving in to Alice Springs. Miss Pink and her Warlpiri assistant gardeners developed the 16 hectares to preserve the native flora of the central desert region. Following her death in 1975, the reserve was taken over by the NT Government who further developed the site and opened it as the Olive Pink Flora Reserve in 1985. In 1996 it was renamed the Olive Pink Botanic Garden.

Great got it in one.
Must be in record time too. What are you doing trawling the net at that time of the morning? Is there a time zone difference in there somewhere.
It's interesting that so many of us can recognise this person.
Edit .. BTW, I think that this painting has close to zero in skill level. I think that I, with a complete lack of artistic talent, could do as good a job!
Your turn Sheba.
