No rain on the south coast nsw - a glorious day but now a cold night. We've even put the heater on. And no rain like other places or even snow like Victorian Alps.

Was on the news here in Glady Qld tonight, it is so dry further north of here ,state Goverment is going to allow the cattle farmers to let their stock into some of the National parks to graze for awhile.

G'day,
Trip from Bajool to at present the Bluff rest area just south of Tentarfield, the weather has been good for travelling over the last 2 days. Lots of feed for cattle on Queensland side but once you pass over border you notice a lot more long grass but it is very dry, possible fire hazard later on. Feel the nights getting a bit chilly, good for a restful sleep.
Cheers
Kev
PS noticed in Gayndah back packers practically camping on the road in great numbers, strange how the rules are relaxed when there is fruit to be picked, someone pulling some strings.

Same thing regarding these back packers around the coastal area here ,they have got chased out of Cairns and places like that, so, they all just find some where else to land and camp.

I see you're still around Cherylle. It looks like the only one's along your way are in CP's in Caboolture or Glasshouse Mountains and there's a fee for non guests.
Do you have the 'bible' ie: Camps Australia Wide? There's a list of dump points in the back of it. There's one at Wyllie Park Rest Area at Petrie. It's beside the North Pine River, 755 Gympie Road, Petrie. You would need to get off the Gateway Motorway because that's the old highway. 27 16 22 S 152 58 49 E
You could also try showgrounds for dump points. Cleveland showgrounds?? Good luck!

Very cold sth easterlies making things a bit miserable. The new England h/way is awash with caravans of all types heading north. I don't know where they are all gunna park. Were all going north and the rush is on, goodluck. I will be staying in Newcastle till June.

Nice and sunny here at Greta but very cold winds blowing from south. Bit of history for Greta, did not know that there was a very large Army camp here, it's possible that my father was brought here to do his training before being shipped overseas, according to info in the town there were a lot of Tasmanians training here with the 2nd AIF.
Cheers

Another sunshiny day on the south coast NSW. And yet, further south it has been raining and to the west it was snow and sleet. Hard to imagine when it's 20C outside.

After a miserable cold and wet day yesterday, to wake up to sunny blue skies was a pleasant surprise. My feet were even burning in the hot sun while sitting at the bakery in Childers today.

It's been raining in Taroom for the past 12+ hours. Steady soaking rain, which is good for the locals, but put the kybosh on me packing up. So I'm taking advantage of my free night here...pay for 3 nights, get the 4th for free. Currently 11 degrees but I'm cosy in the van.
