Nice and cool here (Newcastle) yesterday (18th) and today (19th), helps with the fires and back burning all around us.
The heat is supposed to come back tomorrow, but hopefully the fires will be under control by then. Praying for no hot dry winds with the forcast heat, but I think its a "job lot".
We have smoke everywhere - to the north the Heatherbrae / Port Stephens fires, to the south Lake Macquarie / Catherine Hill Bay / Lake Munmorah and to the west Singleton / Muswellbrook.... surrounded.
The smell of smoke is everywhere, eyes are stinging and uncomfortable.
Most of the sirens have stopped now, but every so often we still hear a couple and see the lights of the emergency vehicles.

Two lovely days in a row here in Portland. Next week back to winter but hopefully we don't get wild fronts and hail coming through. Hard to believe NSW is having shocking fires already. Portland area when it dries out will be a worrying factor will all the grass and the forests full of dead trees and undergrowth. Our thoughts are with NSW keep strong..

Feels like a scorcher on the way today here in Batemans Bay, NSW south coast. The mercury stick only reads 25* @ 8.45am but feels like around 30* with strong north west winds. Still, not complaining, at least I'm away from all the gale force arctic winds back at base camp.

28C here further down the coast. Horrible NW winds which remind us of the struggle they are having in the Blue Mountains. Pray for all those brave firefighters.

Lovely day here in Wellington (NSW), low 20's and breezy after a shower last night. We feel a bit guilty having such a great day when others have had an awful one.

Today we have a brisk ESE breeze at 25km/h, and a pleasant 25 degrees. There's supposed to be some showers about but nothing so far.
The wind's supposed to change to a NNW tomorrow, which will warm things up again.

I'd love to be there right now Heather. Lovely spot. My sister lives at Tin Can Bay. I've never actually camped at Inskip but have a tentative plan to go there in early December, before the school hols.

Been in Melbourne 2 weeks almost....... Cold, wet.... Bring your woollies with you!
Donnas and heaters at night.
Had old towels down to help keep some of the mud out of the van... Need to find a laundromat.
Rang home yesterday.... Warm, temps in the high 20's and no rain forecast.

Windy today, not much rain but dust instead in the Nowra (NSW) area. Poor folks in the Highlands have another frost forecast for tonight.
At least your rain in Ballarat keeps the farmers happy Bobstar?
