Absolutely perfect further down the south coast of NSW. No rain (we could do with it) and beautiful temps with a slight breeze today. Lots of people enjoying the day at the beach.
NW Qld at Kooroorinya Nature Reserve 110km south of Hughenden. We've had more rain in the last 2 days than we had for the whole of 2013 still not a drought breaker though.

K Kelpie, be prepared.
HEADS UP QLD FOR A POSSIBLE CYCLONE. Share with Family and Friends from Rockhampton to Cairns ...including inland areas. A tropical low is developing in the Coral Sea east of QLD, it has a high chance of developing into a Tropical Cyclone by Wednesday and is forecast to move west possibly crossing the coast on Thursday. There is also about a 30% chance it won't cross the coast, however I would rather see people prepared as we are just 3 days out now. Locations??? Anywhere from Rockhampton to Cairns need to be on WATCH and be READY this includes inland areas into central and northern parts north of Emerald to Longreach. Where is it likely to cross???IMO around Townsville at this stage. Where could it affect??? Coastal and Inland areas from Rockhampton to Cairns could be affected by strong winds and rain however areas from Townsville to Rockhampton could see very heavy rainfall and strong possibly damaging winds. Flooding may develop in some locations between Townsville and Rockhampton with 200 to 400mm forecast around Mackay district. How Strong??? Cyclones are rather unpredictable however it may develop up to a Category 3 system by landfall, more likely a cat 1 or 2. Queensland NEEDS this rain that could come with this cyclone, I hope is does cross the coast WITHOUT causing damaging and heads inland drenching drought affect areas. Some of the models are forecasting exactly that so I'm pretty excited for the rain! Image: 5000 ft rotational winds around the cyclone centre at 10am Thursday morning. Stay safe be aware be prepared! Are you cyclone ready? ~ Jeff Higgins ~

Meant to be a cool 29 today (fraser coasts QLD) which is lovely, we have very strong winds since Sunday (prob from cyclone in the north) , now waiting to hopefully get some rain if this cyclone hits further up.

We are at Port Victoria, weather is hot, but we are sitting beside the sea, still hot, but your mind tells you when you look over the water, that it isn't that bad, watching a black swan at the moment, alone, very unusual for there to be only one, hope he/she hasn't lost their partner, also, they say that they don't usually go in the salt water, is this true ???

Here in the Sunny West, we have a magic day in Perth,
As usual, the sun is shining, clear blue skies and the humidity has given us a break for the day,
the temp is actually under 30deg here at 1 pm ( by a smidgen 29.4 deg )
first time it's been that low for months
Still no rain, but we did have .02 mm sometime around Christmas, or was it last year.???
The local Fire bug is still running berserk,
He or She managed to close the Kwinana free-way at rush hour last night, by lighting yet another fire.
I hope they catch the Mongrel before someone gets seriously hurt or worse.

Just returned from a visit to Goulburn (NSW), its very warm and very dry up that way. As we neared the coast on the homeward journey that good old sea-breeze allowed us to turn off the air-con and smile.
Makes me wonder why we ever leave here!
Good luck to those in fire-affected areas, and "Thank you" to the firies.

I got a hell of a shock here in Perth this morning,
I was fiddling in the back shed, when "SWMBO" came racing out the back door,
screeching her head off like a chook gone crazy, "did ya see it" she was yelling !!!
What the hell are ya squawking about, I asked ???
"IT'S RAINING" she said, I checked the foot path, "Yep"..... Well, "Dang me",
There they were...... 1...2...3......8....9...+ 1/2 rain drops on the path,
Next thing there was a clap of thunder, and "whoosh" the cloud was gone and out came the sun again.
Well that was our Feb average gone in a split second.
Now clean skies again and sitting on a rather cool 30.2 deg at 12 .30 pm
