Finally was able to find the drill and repair the loose board on the decking. Replaced the weather strip on Athena's door., feeling quite pleased with myself., still thinking about recaulking her, have bought all the requirements, just need to phsyic myself and to workout how to erect the gorrilla ladder.,

Today is my turn to grandkids sit while the parents are off on a Sunday ride on their Harleys. Given me an opportunity to tidy the van, do the family washing which the girls hung out for me.
Now it's time to decide what to do next week when it's not a payweek and van service took up most of last payweek.

Hello Everyone,
Ame25, How did you go fencing? That's a lot of people helping.
Sheba: I bet the dog was pleased.
Happy Wanderer: Great to spend time with the grandies.
Frangipani: What is a guerrilla ladder? U go girl. Girls can do anything.
Me: We had a lovely visit from Billleee and Jules today. Yesterday we went to the Caravan and camping show at Redcliffe showgrounds. No. we did not buy another van just some levellers.
Regards, Rocket.

She sure was Rocket. Visited a friend a couple of hours up the Highway on Saturday, and discovered that there are on the Market these days, Batteryoperated Camping Showers.
Prior to this, I had only heard of the 12V ones. Jaycar have one on sale at the moment, for $19.99. It runs on 4 "D" Batteries. Needless to say, I went in to Rocky and bought one today.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Hi All.
Went fishing today, caught 5 black fish, made a bit of a mess of filleting them, just need more practise and a real good sharp knife next time.
I figured I didn't annoy my brother in law he brought me back to the boat ramp and then he tried real hard to show me how to fillet black fish.
Great day here shared the fish with family for tea, but said we need to more on to Toronto for few days. Ralph.

Was going to catch up with Kathy [Kaid] this morning, but had to alter plans, and collect Pete [Ontos45] from the hospital, then get his medications organised, instead.
Can't get in touch with her now, so I'm hoping nothing has gone wrong there. Will find out in the morning.

Have some Info. for that guy down near you, who's having the problem with the Cyclone Recovery People.
Joe will be calling in too, some time tomorrow I think.
Thanks again for today.

Today, and for the last 2 months I'm with Blaze Aid at Lenswood SA.
We are rebuilding fences after the big Sampson Flat bushfires.
We are in a camp that provides support for anywhere between (roughly) 20-32 volunteers who go out daily, 7 days a week, in small teams. we clear away old fencing and provide the labour to rebuild the fences.
Blaze Aid provides us with breakfast and 2 course dinner and the farmers provide morning tea and lunch on site.
Heaps of work has been done and we have about 160 properties needing work at varying levels.
Great place, great people, hot showers etc or camp in van/motorhome or tent (some 240 volt available).
Come and join us one and all.
PS: No experience necessary as we need anyone willing to help, get new skills or be a semi skilled helper.

Hi everyone, haven't posted for a few days. Still here in Monto with Blaze Aid restoring fences and did some stick picking at one farm so the harvester can get through and at least reap some crop without damaging the machine. Hot day today and we are all pretty beggared tonight. Tomorrow night we have all been shouted dinner at the Thai restaurant by one of the locals. It's great to have free power, have the aircon running tonight. Cheers Colleen

Good on you Baz421 and Ame 25 - it is people like you who put much younger ones to shame - stay safe, don't work too hard, and enjoy yourselves in your leisure time.
Wish I was fit enough to join you Colleen. Flat out doing any housework even these days. Getting very tired just driving to and from hospitals, and taking people shopping etc. At least I'm helping others who aren't up to doing much either.
When Pete and Sue are a bit better, I might see if there's anything I could do to help the Mob at The Caves.
Take care, and don't over-do it .
Cheers,
Gayle.

The weather was being very kind to us at this stage nice and sunny after having a look around the Circular Quay we headed for lunch at the Sydney Tower revolving restaurant.

Hi everyone, well I have done some real work for the first time in a few years !!!
I arrived here in Monto QLD to help the Blaze Aid volunteers clearing the farmers fences, that have flood debris in them.
Very satisfying and hot work.
Makes a person feel good, helping others, as the farmers are very down. Some have been hit with floods here five times in four years.
Will stay as long as I can.

Hi, it was a pleasant 2 hours and 10 minutes travelling by train from Fassifern to Central in Sydney.
Travelling on our Senior Card $2.50 on day. Great buying, ok I don't get a full tour guide telling facts I can not remember as I have travelled most of this area as a transport driver, I can spend all day telling Marilyn this was that and I carried that into there. The ferrys were great seeing most of that beautiful harbour.
Today we walked half way across the Sydney Harbour Bridge then down the walkway along side the Cahill Motorway before walking though the Botanical Gardens over to Mrs. Macquarries Chair returning via the Domain pass the Soldiers Memorial.
At this point we jumped on a train to the Quay for more Ferry rides, spending 3 hours cruising east from the Quay.
Great day in all. Ralph.
