I have been offered a 2019 workmate tray back at a reasonable price considering the Land cruiser tax. It has 90,000 kml on the clock and has a full Toyota service history. It's an ex forestry vehicle already fitted with most of the goodies I would want, including bull bar, GVM upgrade, dual batteries, brake controler etc.

The only thing that is bothering me at the moment is that I have heard talk about DPF problems with these vehicles, but have absolutely no knowledge of them to fall back on, and hoping some of the Land cruiser experts on here might share any thoughts and suggestions that may help. Cheers Dave

I haven't heard of un unusual number of issues with the DPF on the 4.5 litre diesel landcruisers.

There is a well known issue with DPFs on hilux, foretuner and prados with the 2.8 litre diesel engines. There is/was a massive class action lawsuit against Toyota relating to these.

I have read that injectors on D4D Toyota diesels sometimes don't always last as long as they should, and that replacements are very expensive.

Thanks Rodsvan , Searches have suggested to me the problem is often caused buy failure of the injector that puts fuel into the DPF for burn off
which could maybe tie into what you are saying .
