Hi, has anyone used the gme window mount antenna. Looks like a demister. Just wondering how effective the reception is. Dont use the uhf much, just a bit of beach convoy or passing trucks.

I use the longer aerial below on our Sprinter Campervan Wndscreen with our name brand CB.
I assume that these type of aerials transmit the signal through the glass without having to drill a hole through the glass.
Is that correct? Edit: Just asked Google and yes, using capacitive coupling.
But, how are the plates fixed to glass? Adhesive or something else?
Edit: a YouTube shows me that one brand uses a pre-applied adhesive pad on each plate. Ok now.

Back in the late 1980s I had a company car with a car phone. The aerial was stuck on the glass to align with the wiring inside the glass. Reception on the phone was brilliant.

Makes my "Plug and play" unit easy to remove, and works well.
