Hi fellow Nomands , Just registered and have a heap of questions you may want to help me with.
Want to buy a S/H poptop around 16 Ft .any do's and don't's I should take on board . Brands to avoid, etc
Main intened use is sealed road along the coast
Noted on the road a lot of newer vans travel with out antisway bars , does the lenght of the draw bar effect sway .
My tow vehicle is a 2001Subaru Outback 2.5
Would apprecaite both positive and negative points of view

Ahhhh! yet another joins the fold, we are well on the way to world domination, a big fat hairy welcome to ya wombat, with a name like that I like ya already, poptops, watch the canvas must be in good nick and lifting mechanism works easily, all cabinets must be tight and easily operated, no rust on chassis, brakes in good condition, watch for water stains on the ceiling, also watch for plywood lifting around vents and windows, dead give away that she leaks, does she smell right, musty smell possible leak or is it just a closed in smell, gut feeling is always a good barometer, look along her lines, above and below any visible bulges, stone damage, water damage from below, accident damage, has she came from up north where the flooding has been, wheel bearings nice and tight, sloppy bearings sloppy maintenence, if ya dont like it dont buy it, if ya likes it buy it, brands, much of a muchness, anyway good luck and enjoy your travels, anti sway on smaller vans possibly not necesary in most cases, longer drawbar makes reversing a lot easier, but anyway a lot more knowledgeble person or persons will be along shortly
