Ok good question.... I am here simply because I like free stuff. I don't enjoy the fora where things are run by vested interests and the moderator jumps down your throat because he/she does not want you telling the truth about a product that may be deleterious on the advertisng $$ that they chase. I find it mildly offensive that somone makes money out of what everyone else provides for free...On the other hand vollunteering ones time and energy on these "free" fora does give you a sense of belonging, and I think the esprit de corps that develops here is far superior to the forums where you have to pay to join or if you don't pay you only get some "priveliges" and cop a ribbing because you refuse to pay up.

fully agree, advice everywhere (some of it even good) good people, enjoy passing on knowledge gained over a lifetime of travelling, and picking up tips along the way, good banter, little regulation, deletrious, Basil you will give your mouth a hernia with all these big words

Searching around for a site to ask questions on various forms of outdoor living . Just new into Vanning done heaps of tent work and motor homes but no vans up til now still looking at S/H vans . This site came up as a down to earth site with plenty of people willing to help out a new guy . Maybe in years to come I can return the gift of knowledge to others.

mmm...well being a novice in the camping scene I searched thru several sites and came to an abrupt halt with reading the relaxed chit chat in here. The knowledge and friendship overflows so graciously. I now feel as if I have been rushed thru some intense but easy schooling and educated by others of much wisdom and wit. Started in pre-school...advanced to kindergarden..primary school..thru to high school and now going thru uni..and almost ready to graduate into my first trip.
