Did you ever hear the stories about cars being written off on the way home from the dealer?

Well I know all about it, picked up my brand new turbo diesel Sorento today at 4:00 and it was written off at 5:50.... Hadn't even got it home. Silly woman drove thru a give way sign straight into me. Had no chance..... Fortunatley no one was injured, and APIA have said that even though I had not had the chance to give them the rego Number they will replace it for me. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeez I'm angry, I need a stiff drink.....Sybil is plying me with chocolates to try and calm me down.....

Going to be an expensive excercise for the at fault party who it now appears is not insured....... APIA certainly gets my vote every time, this is my first vehicle claim and we have had a few caravan claims with them and always had excellent service...... They are saying that they will find a similar vehicle somewhere in Oz and have it shipped to me if I am not concerned with colour maybe 3 weeks delay if I want another black one. The only reason I got the black one was because it was on the lot and I got a good deal......

Basil.Being named Faulty can cause a few problems.I.E.when filling in insurance claim forms a surname Faulty may cause a few raised eyebrows. You could possibly be known as Faulty Faulty even though you are not the Faulty at fault. The good thing is that nobody was injured.good luck with your next vehicle, lets hope that get home safely when you pick it up.maybe I should say Faultlessly.Cheers Basil, all the best Ibbo.

New car will be delivered tomorrow....Or so I'm told. Diesel Sorento's are hard to find they told me and appologised profusely for the delay. I confess to being in shock, I thought there would be months of deliberations, fact finding missions etc but APIA seem to want this resolved ASAP.....Maybe they have a stooge on the forum????

Basil, most claims now are dealt with and finalised within a month, gone are the days of filling in forms and waiting and then some more forms, the dragon just had her car written off for her by a driver who first signalled and then changed his mind so we are going through the same thing right now, trouble is finding another vehicle with comparable drivability, and fuel economy of her trusty little 98 festiva is going to be a problem, but thats life,
I had my old magna wagon written off by a drongoe who turned in front of me at a "t" junction, that happened about 8 months ago, all finalised over the phone by a lovely young lady by the name of amphone, nothing was a problem and it isnt now, thats why we are still with cumis insurance and will be after this latest one is finallised. anyway good luck with the new one
AND FOR CHRIST SAKE HOOK UP THE VAN AND GET OUT OF THERE!!!!!!!!!

Dave.... the problem is that I don't want to tow anything untill I've done a 1000km and anyway the van is at Tathra.....So we will have to go there and retrieve it.... LOL Yep Insurance must be competitive these days, in todays mail there is a cheque from APIA for $50 because they did not keep "Promise 11" whatever that is....
