If anyone knows what sort of little frog this is - would love and identification.
we have hundreds of them here and just not sure what they are.

They are only about 1-1 1/2 inches at the largest and this morning there  were about 6 of them just singing their little hearts out on the pond.

We think they may be the striped marsh frog and have tried a few different web sites, but can't seem to get a decent enough shot to see if they are the same..Though you knowledgable lot might just know???

yep, that's a frog all right, no doubt about it!!! definitely a frog, the back legs give it away!!

I can't help you either, if you had it's wrapper I may be able to identify it....

I'm not sure what frog that is either, but have just taken a picture (see below) of the Great Australian Frog (Frogus Australis Flagis) that I just found near our pond.

I think that the frog looks like a rare Kakadu Puffer Frog.They originally lived around Ayers Rock(Uluru).They were much favoured by the Aboriginals as an aphrodisiac when grilled with H.P sauce and white vinegar.Just driven back from Buderim Qld,boy oh boy,we are not motorists any more,fighter pilots maybe.Worked out in the end that if I stayed behind a Semi/BDouble I would be on the speed limit,miss all the Kodak operators and arrive safely.Back to the frog looking up Google and I am sure that the little bugger will be identified.Cheers Ibbo.

Is it the Golden Bell frog they keep saying on the way out . Not sure only ever used frogs as bait for Barra

Bum steer not the golden bell frog. Why I don't know but that's a mottled green frog nothing gold about it. Try the above site there will be an email address you can send the pic to for ID

Have two more images from the Frog ID site   Searched 46 pages of images to find these on page 43  . The male goes a bright yellow when in the mating season.  Still not sure

Haven't found anything so far. The closest I've found are Tropical Rainforest Frogs. Cheers, xina.

We have  a pond at the side of the house and there are hundreds of them now and some have even taken up residence in our self watering pots ( will show you another shot - but they are the same.  Little difference between any of the ones we have seen - all much this same mottled green - brown color. they have a fairly marked golidish color sripe down from the head to the tail.   The only exception to the rule is image 2, which is resident in one of the pots and he is exceptionally people friendly and quite happy to have human company and happy to pose for the camera at any time.

I will check out those sites and thanks everyone for your interest and will keep pursing - anyone want any frogs

ah!! now image two I do know, thats your common old garden variety green tree frog, quite common in qld. if you had bell frogs in your garden you would very quickly be quarantined and kicked out and the whole area declared a non traficable reserve you should have kept the box from the first one!! that would have told you what it was

Got a green tree frog, a brown flecked frog, and a lot of liddle white ones come up in the toilet bowl, dont matter whose bum is on it
my problem is what is the tree, I parked under in the freebie at Dauringa Truck Stop, no bees or birds anywhere near it??

But that second shot of yours Mike looks very much like it.  The photo of mine is when they are croaking they blow their little throats out.  Amazing sight really.

Although ours look to have more greenish spots and a little more gold on them...

Hi Guys, Mike and Judy, your frog in the second Pic. looks to me like a Spotted Marsh Frog. Limnodynastes Tasmaniensis. Lynnenbarry, the closest thing I can find going by Pic No 1., is Perons' Tree Frog. Litoria Peronii. The crossed eyes are definitely the same, and depending on which picture you get, the colour is very like it. Best I can do so far, Cheers, xina.
