Following on from the 'motor vehicle insurance post' re being away from your garaged address for more than 90 days. We have just rang our insurance company RAC WA and was advised we are still covered so long as we have a current address where our vehicle is normally garaged. So can travel for 12 months and still be covered.
Obviously people who sell up and their home is on the road i.e. they have no permanent address they are restricted by some insurance companies to how long their insurance is valid.

My problem is my vehicle is registered in WA, my postal address is in SA, but the vehicle is garaged wherever the vehicle is parked, currently Qld. I don't have a "home" location except where my van is parked. That's part of life as a GN. Cheers Granny

Thats right, if you have 'no fixed abode' then it becomes difficult to insure, we have still got our home, not a good time to sell! and we have still got our postal address, all in WA, so we are covered. But one day we plan to sell and our abode will be what we are travelling in. But thanks for mentioning about RAC WA it made us pick up the phone and ask some questione before we set off.
