So who forgot that it's pancake day? Hmmmmmmmmmm? I have this fantastic receipe here goes: Open a bottle of pancake shake pour in the water put the lid back on shake voilently cook 150mm discs measured exactly with calipers Pile onto plate sprinkle with raw sugar and generous squirt of lemon juice also from a bottle aviod fresh juice as there may be some nutritional value in that eat, if you are an agnostic use cutlery, Christians can use their fingers.... If you must make them yourself.....
Preparation Time

Cooking Time

Makes

Ingredients (serves 4) (ants that is)
2 cups (300g) self-raising flour
1/2 cup (75g) plain flour
2 tbs caster sugar
2 1/3 cups (580ml) milk
80g butter, melted, cooled
1 egg, lightly whisked
Extra melted butter
Extra caster sugar, to serve
Lemon wedges, to serve
Method
Sift flour into a bowl. Add sugar and stir well. Add milk, butter and egg. Whisk until well combined.
Brush two small non-stick frying pans with a little of the extra melted butter. Heat over medium heat. Add 1/3 cup of mixture to each pan. Cook for 2 minutes, or until bubbles appear on the surface. Carefully turn over and cook fro 1 minute.
Transfer pancakes to a plate and wrap loosely in a clean tea towel to keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter, greasing pan between each batch. If you find the pan is getting too hot, reduce heat slightly.
Lemon and sugar is nice, but you can't beat spreading with strawberry jam, rolling up and putting cream on top

To be pedantic, it's the day before Ash Wednesday (as in Easter, not bushfires) that is,the day when people were shriven (made their confession) as part of the period of Lent
Aren't you glad you asked????

Good to see Mike and Dave are both Christians, rolling their pancakes up and eating them in their fingers and us agnostics have to eat them with a knife & fork.

Otherwise known to as Pancake Tuesday ..... we've been keeping it as a family tradition for years, our kids always looked forward to it. We love you're first very nutritionist's "Instant Pancakes" recipe, Basil. Maybe the shaking of the bottle at least has some health benefits!!
In your second recipe we don't use butter or sugar in the ingredients, just make up for it by cooking in butter and piling the sugar on the lemon juice.
We've got two lemon trees full of lemons so sounds like a good excuse to make pancakes. We won't be shaking a pancake bottle violently, we'll be shaking the lemon tree violently!!
