Well after many days and even weeks listening to a lot of music and pre recordings from out internet provider we are finally back in action. It has not been a good time my mobile also decided to break down and as it was 6 weeks out of warranty telstra who I am contracted to only for another 10.5 months more wanted $50.00 just to send it away to get looked at or I could upgrade to a new contract but with a catch I had to pay an extra $30.00 a month for not completing the previous contract (with the broken phone) now there is a way to win customers. Anyway besides that hope everyone is well. Hope Dave you had a great time in Tassie I did read your blog. Friends of mine from France are currently cruising around oz on there old shovel so give them a wave if you see them. its the motor bike that looks like it has everything except the kitchen sink attached to it. They are off to Tassie on Sunday then finally coming to spend a few days with us. Happy travels we are in the planning stage for next trip with one hurdle whether to go east or west. A tough choice. chezgo

Hi! cheryl fantastic to have you back amongst us,
telstra are quite simply greedy mongrels but seing as to how they are pretty much the only game in town we have our hands tied, I listen to leon viner on the radio pretty much each morning on the way to work and the ammount of complaints that come through his show about telstra and mobile phone contracts is ridiculous, have you contacted the telecommunications ombudsman, maybe he can do something for you, cant hurt, worst he can say is "cant help you"
your mates heading off to Tassie are a lucky pair of buggers, I'd love to go back right now, in fact I would sell up tomorrow and live there I just love the place,
it's always great catching up with freinds that you havent seen for a while, we will be doing a bit more of that in august when we shoot up to uluru and alice springs
ah! east or west, the great question, we are thinking of heading east around november not sure yet, new zealand looks pretty good but it looks like costing about $4,000 - $5,000 so it's not a cheap option and maybe our money would be better spent elsewhere, gotta think about that one a bit more

Strewth Chez - perhaps washing towels aint so bad? LOL I have a problem with Telstra too, my plan expired and so I got a new mobile for $0 and stay on my current plan. Now 6 months after getting the new phone I get a letter from Telstra telling me my plan has expired and I should go to the nearest Telstra shop to get a free "upgrade".... So of I toddles complete with new phone and letter and they actually said that they would give me a new phone but were not sure why I would want to upgrade as the phone I have is very "prestigious".... Yeah well go figure, Maybe Sol is not such a bad guy afterall....
I am gonna get the newie and just leave it in it's box to use when the current phone dies which will be 1 day out of warranty...

No Basil nothing could ever be as bad as the towells. And dave New Zealand would be nice but Im thinking not that far east. More the south east coast of New South Wales its been a while since I have been to Narooma which I love havnt been there for a year so might do a tour up the coast to the family at Berry. But then I wonder should Iwe go to Streaky Bay im having withdrawal symptoms its been 4 months since I was over there and I miss it. And Popeye I had a look at the fine print on the contract and yes the contract was for two years but the handset was only under warranty for 1 year. So I bought another cheap next g phone on ebay I wasn't giving telstra my money for one, well not directly anyway. So my sim works in it and come Dec 10th Im going pre paid Next g and after 10years of contracts with them I will be telling them thanks but no thanks. chezgo
