Funny about you southerners, most of the people who live up here find that there is no comparison tween the pics and the real person,
The media has to get there storys from somewhere to justify there existance,
Personally they cause most problems then they are worth,
Any thing to sell or publicize their worth, even the fires was over the top in places, and that comes from a firefighter who was there in the thick of it, and also my son,
the way I look at it they covered the fires, because there was a lot of people to watch there coverage down south, but the floods which were just as devasting in the gulf hardly got a mention, cause the population interest wasnt there,
Back in the 70s I was in a shop that got robbed, it was nt a big robberey but the report that came out in the Age blew it up out of all proporthion to what happened

Its all a bit convenient before the election. Im thinking maybe not her she was married and pregnant at the time and pelicans didn't open until the mid 80's so did the legal eagles at news ltd thoroughly research this before going to press it will probably cost them big time if they didnt. And now the owner of the pics is having memory problems and actually didnt know her last name now its come to light she wasnt a Hanson back then. chezgo

For the media to get hold of the story and print it without checking the doubtful source from which it supposedly came from shows that this chip frying chic has someone worried in politics .
If you go back to her first election platform you will see that the major parties have picked up most of her policy platform and put it on their letterheads ,maybe she was ahead of her time like a lot of lateral thinkers .

Well Well , Pauline is in the clear, I bet there are red faces diving for cover in the Qld Labor party rooms, paid all that money to a bloke who can't even remember if he knows anyone by that name or if the pics are his . I suppose that will be logged as miscellaneous expenses under electoral donations.

I did read her original maiden speach that was edited before dissemination to the public and my employer at the time was tasked with getting to the bottom of the matter. It is kind of amazing that all the other parties have one common cause and that is to keep her out of parliament...

Yes we are a democracy and though at times I find Paulines rationales a little obscure I would defend to the death her right to think and say what she wants. I think her niaviety is her best point, she says it like it is given the constraints of her knowledge. Obviously the other parties think we the great unwashed public agree with all of her policies as they seem to plagerise them for their own, and conduct smear campaigns like wot started this thread to try and discredit her. Under a democratic system the voters get exactly what they vote for - & thus deserve.

The Eros Association today released photos of a Pauline Hanson doppelganger that was possibly the model that the Sunday Telegraph fraudulently claimed to be Ms Hanson. The unknown model starred alongside the world famous black adult actor known as Long Dong Silver* in a Danish adult magazine in 1982.
Eros CEO, Fiona Patten, said that the admission by the Sunday Telegraph of its monumental identity mistake should be the subject of a Queensland Parliamentary Privileges Committee enquiry and that if the Committees jurisdiction did not cover threats or obstruction to a political candidate as well as elected MPs, then State and Federal parliaments needed to adopt such a policy.
Ms Patten said that Ms Hanson clearly had her rights at law to deal with the issue but the Sunday Telegraph could also have been said to have been trying to influence the outcome of the seat of Beaudesert in the Queensland election by publishing the photos. There was no public interest whatsoever in publishing nude photos of a candidate during an election campaign just for the shock value of it, she said. If this had happened to a sitting member, it would have been viewed as a Contempt of Parliament and dealt with accordingly. Ms Hanson should have been protected by the Parliament that she was trying to gain election to.
Ms Patten said there was only one situation where the publishing of private sexual images or information could possibly be justified and that was where a sitting member or candidate was espousing policies that ran contrary to the behaviour exhibited in the photos or information. Public interest can only be established and then be said to legitimise the publishing of private sexual information or photos, in cases where monumental hypocrisy or illegal behaviour such as exhibited by the Rev Jimmy Swaggert in the US or in the case of the former member for Capricornia, Keith Wright, she said. Ms Hanson has never espoused policies or agendas related to sexual behaviour which would have made the publishing of those photos in the public interest.
She said that the Australian Sex Party would push for reform of the laws around Contempt of Parliament to ensure that people like Ms Hanson were protected but also that whistle-blowers in this area were also protected and not subject to charges.
