Are you a drinker, maybe a silly question, whats your favorite brew, mine used to be a mulled wine made by a german fried of mine , really got you hot ??? now it a light ale , really gets me cool Was,nt sure where this was to go, but its a good topic for late summer
ok didnt load as its a video of a beer bottle dominoe, so if you would like to see it will email it to you on request
I'm not that much of a drinker but probably cascade light with a meal
a very good double malt whiskey with coke after a good meal, sitting around a fire with three or four very good freinds, the company and the atmosphere are the moments that I treasure, not the drink so much

Agree with Dave, Cascade Light or Jamiesons Irish with diet coke..... But as I worry about the effects of alchohol on my soul I find I don't drink much these days, a glass with a meal occasionaly.

Saw the topic, got my interest straight away
Ye old barb wire for me (XXXX), med strength these days. Like a wine with a meal, and scotch n water for social.
As I see it, they are all herbal, only problem is getting the alcohol out of them, so I use my natural biological filter (liver/kidneys)

G'day,
Well I quite enjoy a Carlton Dry but my favourite would have to be a malt or any 12 to 15 year old whiskey uncontaminated by anything, no water, ice or coke just plain old Scotch or Irish Whiskey, the nectar of the Gods.

Was wondering if there was anyone else out there that enjoyed scotch the way it should be drank......on it's own nothing added, how poeple can pour COKE on a scotch..........sacrilige!!!

well Basil I reckon our fragile discerning palate would revolt against raw liquor if not eased down a wee bit by a softer mix,
common as muck some people, why would they risk contaminating the booze with a glass they should just put the bottle in a brown paper bag and suck on it like it is,
we, being of refined character and tastes, would much rather ease it down and enjoy the flavour

Bridgee, I'm with you - scotch was meant to be enjoyed in its natural state. I will occasionally add a little ice - depending on the weather. My brand is Dewars - White Label as it is know now. I have been looking for a bottle of Dewars "Ancestor" for some time now for that 'special' occasion. My beer nowadays is home brew. I make a mean James Squire Amber Ale - but low carb of course. Makes some commercial beers taste very soapy to me. Note my comment below........'If they tell you.........'

Love tasting all sorts of beer.
Also enjoy the juice of the grape.
And once or twice a week I have a Large Whisky Ice and Water.
Used to drink whisky neat when I was at sea in the sixties. Then a scots engineer told me to try it with water (cut it with water he said) and realy taste the flavours. I found his advice was correct. That's the way I have enjoyed it ever since.
All the Distillery's I have visited in Scotland, and even at a "Single Malt Whisky" tasting seminar here in Perth. We were asked to Cut the whisky with water to bring out the flavours.
Nothing beats a wee dram cut with the water from a tumbling Highland Stream that you are camped alongside. Wish they would bottle that water.

I don't have a favorite beer -I like to try different ones. Spirits - Black rum -Capt'n Morgan or navy rum Bourbon and soda -taste the rye grass -sensational way to drink it. Red wine a favorite too many to name.
Top top shelf Hennesy XO cognac - unbelievable bouquet.

And Dave says he is ' refined character' ......refined my big foot! I think we are the refined people here and when one participates in a fine scotch with an ice block we are obviously going for quality not quantity like some people who insists on killing the taste with coin/toilet cleaning chemicals..........coke!!

Thats right, coke is a good cleaner, but not as good as it was.
Up to not so many years ago it had "phosporic Acid" (cant spell it), in it. I noted some years back it has since been removed.
Not so sure about the "cola" they use in the pre mixers

Ah! What a socialable lot we are. What a gathering we could have.
My fave bevvy is Bundy with ginger beer, or dry ginger. I don't drink coke with anything, not even coke.
Hahn Light is my beer of choice if it's very cold and the day is very hot. Otherwise Carlton Mid, or in WA Emu Draft, commonly called pensioners' piss in WA because it's cheap by the 30 can block.
As a native of the Barossa I did my apprenticeship sipping port with my grand parents from a very young age. A smooth Tawny is oh so good after a meal. I also enjoy any dry red, cooled, with Merlot in it, and a smooth dry white, as long as it's cold.
Room temperature in the tropics is not nice. I prefer my wine off the boil.
Cheers to all. Granny

I am a fan of the pure blonde on a hot day but my passion is with the grapes and good drop of red. My two favourites both come from McLaren vale in SA but different wineries. And the duriff a few of our local wineries make is not too bad either. I remember as a kid we used to put penny's in the coke and leave them there to see how long it took before they started to dissolve and they did dissolve. A scary thought! chezgo

I'm a Tooheys Old person for some years - think I was weaned on Tooheys Flag but would never crucify Dimple or Glenfiddich with soft drink. Not even water! Now I'm in the wrong place for Tooheys anything. you know what they say - "no such thing as bad beer only weak people". Carlton United products are fine - lookout Southawk or Coopers - here I come. (All bull really, I drink bugger all these days)
