well perhaps he should put his foot forward and decline his payout and pension as well as all the fringe benefits when he gets turfed out of office and the next pig puts his head in the trough,
not as if they need it with mrs dudd a multi millionairess and in charge of a huge multi million dollar industry

How hypocritical our pollies are! They just asked for a raise.
Really bad timing. The country's in deep .... the deficit is huge, so who's going to pay them more? Where's it going to come from?
They need to sort out the pensions to bring them in line with the actual cost of living, to give pensioners a life rather than just an existence, barely.
Then sort out those puffed up executives who fill their pockets on the way out the door.
When all looks rosy again, I might support an increase of peanuts. (monkey food)

If you read "Pelbo's" tales of woe re. Telstra on the CF threads you'll worry even more when you realise what a huge catastrophe the now retired mexican money grabber has left behind in return for his obscene salary and disgusting severance payout.

All CEO salaries should be performance based and they should only be linked to the CPI and see how they like going backwards . CPI at 3.1 but in real terms the price of your weekly food bill is
14+ % and climbing daily not to mention Land Rates Water, Sewer, Enviro Levies Fuel Medications Health Fund Contributions the list goes on. So far this year all the above L G increases are costing PMQ residents about $350 above last year and we are only 3 months in .
The termination payout should be linked to the raise in the share price since they took over , shares up 4% then the payout equates to 4% of their final BASE salary times the years they have served. Hence, if serving 5 years and the average between gains and loses turns out to be 2% over all then the figure is 2 % times the years served. this would ensure they keep their eye on the ball at all times.
I don't give a bugger who it is a termination of $29 Million for the GMH CEO, who has sent his company out the back door ,is obscene to the ridiculous

Maybe someone here can enlighten me. From what I have heard, the Govn is trying to get CEO (and board members) pays and bonus's, voted on by the share holders.
Currently, the board sits around and decide between these selves, what will be paid - so self interested.
If my understanding is correct, then it is still full of holes, but its a start, and puts the CEO's of companies on notice.
Bloody disgusting some of these payouts, and as a shareholder, not being able to "normalise" them.
