Tell all your family/ friends/ business acquaintances - in fact tell everybody about this! For all Australian respondents... Telstra Phone book For anyone contemplating using the Sensis directory service number, 1234, DON'T!
Sensis, as you may or may not know, is a subsidiary of Telstra. The 1234 number is replacing the Telstra 12456 directory assistance number, but this time with outrageous costs attached: 40c to call the number, then 4c A SECOND!
By law, Telstra must provide a FREE directory assistance number. They choose however not to pass this number on to the public. The free number is 1223 Thumbs down to Telstra for finding a way to 'charge', for a service that is supposed to be provided for free.

That's why the departing CEO has such a large pay out figure. The moment we let any public utility go private and list on the stock exchange the bottom line is all that matter to the management and share holders. Pity their share price didn't reflect the same increase as the CEO salary package.
Thanks for the heads up.

It's time the people spoke up about all these public companies paying the top of the rung those huge payments,
The shareholders are the next to benefit from the profits.
The customer who pays the bills and buys their services so they can pay themselves the huge payments and returns get nothing. Especially not customer service, understanding or compassion they think they're paying for.
Their biggest mistake they make is to underestimate the intelligence of their customers, and treat them like idiots.
It's about time the customer speaks up, protests and demands the services they pay for.
The Govt needs to be shot for privatising without overseeing the management of their former asset.
