Just get your phone provider to stop the telemarketing incoming numbers.
If one sneaks in just reply with NO or STOP and you will not be charged for the call, and they most likely will never contact you again.
It works for me after I received 3 premium SMS at a cost of $5 each. They are now worth $6 each unless you respond.
The things we have to do to protect ourselves from intruders. What happend to privacy?

Why is it that the mobile phone owner is slugged with a charge for unsolicited messages . There is no charge to the receiver for messages from other sources, so why now .
The thing that get up my nose is when if ever did Telstra ask permission to publicly list mobile phone numbers and do I have the right to have a silent mobile number as I can with a landline
Was interesting to read the other topic on Telstra and there Directory Assistance charges through Sensis 1234. Wondered why they were flogging that number on the TV now it makes sense

I constantly get calls on my mobile from an indian offering a new mobile for free, I normally engage them in some sparkling repartee and wait for them to ask my age and if you give a birthdate that makes you over 80 the whole thing stops there as it is illegal to telemarket to anyone aged 80 or over, the calls stop for 6 months or so then start again. Hey it fills my day.....

note the conditions: point 5 "it is a serious criminal offence to provide false or misleading info" Fair go, it's ok to murder someone but this is serious if you give the wrong details????????
I am the relevant telephone account holder for the above telephone numbers submitted for registration.
The telephone numbers submitted are used or maintained exclusively or primarily for private or domestic purposes and are not used or maintained exclusively for transmitting or receiving faxes.
The telephone numbers submitted are not used primarily for business purposes.
I have not submitted more than 10 telephone numbers in any three year period using the above email address.
I understand that providing false or misleading information is a serious criminal offence.
I wish to be reminded 2 weeks before the expiry of registration.

yes all very serious stuff,
kill 25 people by trying to land a passenger airliner at twice the recommended speed and also after about 30 odd warnings from the instrument panel and receive two years imprisonment with time off for "good behavior'
throw a shoe at the president of the good Ole us of a and almost receive the death penalty
do anything you like but dont interfere in the procurement of anybodies money!!!
ok so what do I do here, I receive a sms from a solicitating company, I have been told by "those in the know" not to open it and delete it straight away, I have also been told that to do this could also impose a cost and that I should sms them back simply stating "no"
what should I do, even though I have never had any of these things on my phone, I simply ticked "no advertorial" on my mobile aplication when I first bought the bag phone a million years ago
the dragon, who is with optus, receives one or two a month, I am with telstra as we need the better coverage when we travel
