NOAH TODAY


In the year 2008, the Lord came unto Noah,

who was now living in the United States, and said:
"Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-
populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me."

"Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing
along with a few good humans."

He gave Noah the blueprints, saying:
"You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will
start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah
weeping in his yard - but no Ark.

"Noah!," He roared, "I'm about to start the rain!
Where is the Ark?"

"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed."

"I needed a building permit."

"I've been arguing with the inspector
about the need for a sprinkler system."

"My neighbors claim that I've violated the
neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my
yard and exceeding the height limitations. We had to
go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision."

"Then the Department of Transportation demanded a
bond be posted for the future costs of moving power
lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the
passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them
that the sea would be coming to us, but they would
hear nothing of it."

"Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban
on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl."

"I tried to convince the environmentalists that I
needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!"

"When I started gathering the animals, an animal
rights group sued me. They insisted that I was
confining wild animals against their will. They
argued the accommodations were too restrictive, and
it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in
a confined space."

"Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark
until they'd conducted an environmental impact study
on your proposed flood."

"I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the
Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm
supposed to hire for my building crew."

"Immigration and Naturalization are checking the
green-card status of most of the people who want to work."

"The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They
insist I have to hire only Union workers with
Ark-building experience."

"To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets,
claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally
with endangered species."

"So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10
years for me to finish this Ark."

"Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine,
and a rainbow stretched across the sky."

Noah looked up in wonder and asked,
"You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"

"No," said the Lord.

"The GOVERNMENT beat me to it."

     GAWD aint that the truth. Try removing a house threatning tree and see what happens.

Dave After the fires anf what you went through, I didnt think there would be any problems

it's getting to be just the opposite here, local government dont want to and will not send an inspector out after the plans have been submitted, the onus is on the owner/occupier to do the right thing but they dont lower the application fees because of less outlay on their part

 Since the fires there hasent been one word from the tree huggers, but wait till the last of the smoke has gone.  would u believe our Alpine shire sent out clean up notices 2 weeks after the fire,the dead hadnt even been buried i get so mad. (John and Sue 2 months later still havent gone to there peace)

Sorry about your friends , our two young ones have gone to heaven, (sons inlaws nephew ???? I think) it seems it is still a crime scene in many parts Surely there has to be a reckoning someday towards these buggers who sit on there asses in council, The Red ****s, sorry shirts, in Thialand seems to be doing quite well

well I too am very sorry about your freinds and as mike says I think a lot of places still need to be investigated and I am sure the people involved are doing their best but I can certainly understand why people just get really fed up with all the crap that is constantly piled on us common folk and rebel, doesnt matter which government is in power they all have the same agenda, keep themselves and their millionaire mates in luxury and the working man poor

I too continue to feel sorrow for the losses caused by the bushfires. Since leaving WA I have noticed many differences between the states. In WA the trees no longer hang over any roads. All branches have been cut up the entire height of the tree, and we know they have some really big ones over there. This stops any branches falling on passing traffic, and stops contact between tree tops where fires can cross. It looked funny at first, but I can fully understand why they do it. People have been killed by falling branches, and we know what fire storms can do when they cross by the tree tops. The trees are also a decent distance away from the road side in most places, especially on major highways. In the Barossa Valley SA, between Rowland Flat and Lyndoch, huge red gums have reflective warning signs on them where they stand, and the widened bitumen has been taken around them. In Vic, NSW and Qld the trees are also up to the edge of the bitumen, with their tops overhanging the road. Someone has very cautiously removed some lower brances to allow traffic to pass, leaving barely enough clearance for high loads on semis. The tree huggers have done more damage than any chain saw when it comes to safety. I'm not in favour of clearing every tree in the name of wood chips or agriculture, but please bring common sense back, and do the realistic instead of hanging on to the idealistic. Chris
