Help needed regarding caravan hitch, on the 22 nov 2008 in page 29, i posted a queery(?) on the hitch on my van. ( no brand visable) there dosent seem to a reversing block on brakes when reversing, Davo posted a pic of hitch in reply to my then question any one that could assist il kive a kiss yippeeeeee

G'day, I had a look at the pic posted by Davo and the coupling looks very much like the Alco coupling I had on my Viscount Aerolite, never had a problem with it.

I've asked around and I can find absolutely no reference to it, I dont think there is a reversing block on the thing in which case it would be very awkward to say the least
if it was me I would take it off and replace it, if you reckon it is a bother, if it's not bothering you and you can reverse it then "if it aint broke then dont fix it"
I know you are getting the "pre trip jitter's" just dont worry about it, pack up and go, all will be well

Thanks Davo and John,i have worked out how it all happens The trouble i was having was it was jamming the van brakes when i reversed. I greased the 2 nipples , hooked up the car and gave it a jerk and it released, but its coming off as now i dont trust it, new coupling going on tomorrow.
