I was redrilling my white ant protection barrier and had the camper next to me and just happened to have the uhf on and scanning

(1) I cant see you yet,   I will let you know when you can see me???????????????

(2) put the load on the second to last post, not the last but the one before that or oh bugger it make it the last one that you come to and then go back one???????????????

(3) let me know when you are coming in to lunch or I can go out to the tractor and ask you what time or just tell me when you get home??????????????

(4) theres two silver monaroes having a drag out here they just flew past me and they are both silver so watch out for them they are a whitish color???????????????

Its funny the insane things you can hear on UHF CB. Its like UHF CB is the 'mobile' phone kids must have in the city of the country.

I recall years ago, over a repeater like clockwork at 4.57pm an elederly male would call his wife in the house, via the repeater mind you, and say "I'm coming through the gate now", her reply was "Ok I will put the kettle on".

The ironice thing of this is I knew these two people and he had been coming through that damn gate at the same time for all 15 years I could remember, although now they have found 'UHF CB' it is deemed neccessary that he calls her up and confirms this.

I've even heard the most stupidest things from those travelling in groups.
There was one I was listening to as they were coming into the said town, I had been listening to them for around 30 minutes, it was kinda entertaining and gave me a good laugh, they all reported to each other they had full tanks of petrol. This was school group by the way, and there were 4 mini-busses in the travelling motorcade.

Anyway as they neared the town, the conversation turned to whether the town had a petrol station and if they could get fuel, remembering they previously said they were all full of petrol, I listened on. The discussion ensued for some 15 minutes until they decided they had enough fuel to travel onto the next town only 20 minutes away, you could hear some of the students in the background as the teachers talked saying 'we only just got petrol'. And these are teachers!!! What hope have the poor kids got hehe.

Novice campers travelling in convoy on their first trip away from home, are also very entertaining, or annoying. Car 1, "Did you see that cow on the left" Car 2, "Yeah. Bloody brown cow." Car 3, "Nuh, didn't see it. Where was it? What colour?" Car 1, "Back there on the left, in the paddock. It was brown, I think." Car 2, "We're going to pull in for a coffee and a pie at the roadhouse." Car 1, "Are you? Well, ok, we'll pull in when we get there." Car 3, "Ok, and we'll use the washroom, and check the tyres while we're here." And so it goes on for every kilo-bloody-metre they drive through. Etc. Etc. Etc. Meanwhile they're tailgating each other, travelling bumper to bumper at 80kph, to the annoyance of every other motorist, especially the truckies who can hear the prattle. And that's life on the road with the UHF-CB. I prefer to listen for road conditions, traffic conditions and the truckies observations of what other motorists do to make their lives difficult. I hope I'm not one of them.

AND I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY ELDERLY FEMALES THAT WAFFELED ON....
I recall following some others on a long trip and we always seemed to be in range of their constant moronic discussions..... "We are going over a  river now" "Ok is there a bridge there" "Yes with the river underneath" and it went on ad nausem via 2 males "George and Stan" for 1000's of KM in fact from Innot Springs to Mataranka.... "Emu on the right George". You can imagine the fun I had, the agent provocateur came thru with gusto.... "Stan we might stop the night at Berkley Roadhouse" " Berkley here, we have a problem with tourists, better to drive on to three ways" evil laugh..... Didn't work though because we went on to 3 ways after seeing what was what at the BR.... George & Stan kept it up constantly for days....

They do all that and more on channel 40. Someone chimes in to tell them to shut up, but do they get it? Oh no! It's all fun on the big, long road.
