Hi Yes OK you don't need to bash me over the head with the obvious this is not a pool forum.but im still at my home !!! But this so amazing i couldn't get over it.Had my pool water checked etc told i needed 7kgs of "a special ,magical " bioguard balance 100 pak at $45 .Did a search on the net see links below and found out i could use ordinary baking soda to do the same job!saving me an absolute fortune.Need about 3kg of baking soda costs me about $5 ........im so happy :O))
PS im a tight arse for saving money etc see this link below for amazing money saving tips covers everything from the cradle to the GRAVE<<<<<< that's handy for us oldies :O)

yes there are lots of every day chemicals that you can use in a pool.I Know someone who uses sodium hypoclorate (BLEACH/White magic) and Hydroclauric acid which he buys by the drum to keep the balance in his pool, claims it is the cheapest way. you need to be real carefull with not getting them mixed and also diluting them correctly.
