Who's counting the days? You can be sure we are. Finally bound for Townsville.
Leaving next Sunday morning and will be away until around the 7th December.
The first stop is only about 60ks down the road. Spending 5 nights at Nelligen Big 4 with a whole bunch from our village. We do this every year around this time.
Leaving Nelligen on Friday 23rd bound for Temora for the flying day on 24th.
Leave Temora on Sunday 25th and then as far as we have calculated will be heading via
West Wyalong Dubbo Gilgandra Coonabarabran Narrabri Moree Goondiwindi Miles Taroom Theodore Emerald Clermont Morandah Mackay Townsville
Spending from the 4th November till the 15th in Townsville and then heading back down the coast to home.
Any advice or recommendations, or otherwise, greatly appreciated.
Thanks

have a great trip you two.
Did the Coonabarabran to Emerald section earlier this year. All good and worth seeing.
Are you free camping or c/parking? Coonabarabran will still be freezing in the mornings and the c/parks are close to the highway and very noisy from the trucks. 1st one in from the south is terrible, worst ive ever been in,although some work was being done when we were there.

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.
John, we plan to free camp wherever possible and exactly where we stop is anybody's guess, just depends on when we have had enough for the day and decide to pull into camp.

Thanks Jim. If we were travelling to Dubbo on our own we would stay there for sure. We will be travelling with another couple as far as Moree and he MUST have his shower before beddies, so looks like a CVP in Dubbo. We did stay at the Big 4 in Dubbo a few months ago and it wasn't too bad then. Thanks again will keep it in my little black book for future reference as we go that way if we go up to my brothers place.

Hi All Agree about Terramungamine. Fantastic spot and VERY popular. Stayed there in April this year and arrived at about 3.30pm to find 8 caravans, 1 motorhome and a campervan already set up. Darryl wanted to keep going but I 'persuaded' him to 'just park the car and set up the campertrailer' . After lots of 'discussion' we were set for the night. Went for a great walk along the riverbank and watched all the major-mitchells find a roost for the night. Watched them again next morning - setting out for the day. Would have loved to stay and do some fishing but needed to get home.

It would be great to meet you, if you do "pop" up this way.
I don't have a date yet, but I reckon you'd be up here before I get the call. We just keep track of dates and places and keep in touch. It's not too hare these days, eh?
I stayed at a park in Dubbo for a couple of days, on the road east near the truck stops. It was quite nice, facilities were ok, not too noisy, might have been the Big4. The other parks didn't look too good and were closer to the centre of town where all the "nocturnal action" is.
Just have a safe trip through some of my favourite country. Take your time. Cheers
