pulled up by a tree to take a little "stroll" so I was "strolling" under this old gum when a branch opposite broke off with the sound of a rifle shot and crashed down about ten feet away, made me nearly "stroll" down my leg in an effort to get away
moral of the sory I guess is dont park under trees no matter how inviting the shade may be, it's time for trees to start "shedding"
this branch would weigh in at roughly half a ton, do a lot of damage to a van or camper!

A timely reminder Dave. We never seem to learn do we. The shade looks soooo inviting we just have to park or sit uunder the majestic gum tree. Mate your "incident" is well worth noting and remembering. Stay safe Dave.

We were at Loxton CP.....Oct long weekend....a branch about 60ft from our CamperT.fell during night from a huge gum tree...would been 10" wide at the thickest end and a good 30ft long....if it hit a caravan...it would have made a lot of damage.......hit a campertrailer or tent........it would have flattened it........I wouldnt worried about...stroll'n...I would have needed a shovel...good reminder Davo about where to camp......Thanks........
