I will get a day off Sunday, no not because of the lords day off but because it most probably will hit 40 degs in adelaide, we are of course uninsured if we reap in above 40 degs temp
meanwhile here in my glass castle looking at the computer readout it shows 45.5 external temp and we are allowed to reap
simply because it is not 40 in adelaide we are insured
the obvious answer is, if it aint in the city then it doesnt exist, head up the backside thinking I say!

Well you are not in the Metro area so you simply do not exist. The fact that you are harvesting food for the nation is of absolutely no consequence.

You don't matter as long as you keep paying your taxes.

Us people who live in the Premier State - VICTORIA - are getting fed up with copping Adelaides poxy weather. I think we need to tighten up the border security, to much rubbish coming across. LOL. Might slip across the border next year to watch the MIGHTY Essendon Footy Club maul that 2nd rate team in Adelaide.

one thing about victoria is that it is so small and cramped we can get out within an hour! from anywhere! as most do I notice!
best interstate highways I have ever seen, I guess when you get that many peope wanting to leave the place in such a hurry then you need them!
head north here in the good state and it's vic number plates for bloody miles
what is esss on den?????? is that a pommy river or something, strong tip for you tell them to stay home and save their embarassment

Up in this end of the country we constantly hear about the heat wave in SA on the news, not just on the weather report.
My eldest daughter in Edithburgh hates the heat. A few years ago she came to Broome to spend Christmas with me. All she could say was "Jeez it's hot!". It's become a family line.
So when I asked her how she was coping, bearing in mind where Edithburgh is, all she sent back was, "Jeez it's hot!"
Even I'm feeling sorry for everyone down there. That intense, dry heat is harder to take than the 30's in the tropics, with the humidity, for me.
Stay cool Sth Aust.

G'day Dave,
All good over here in paradise at the moment, now you watch some b*************** come along and stuff it all up. They have forecast rain for next week but don't hold your breath as you don't seem to get our weather a few days later as you used to a few years ago.

yes the humidity is the killer up there, we were up there when it was averaging 30 - 32 but that humidity was around the 85 - 90% mark, this heat here is around the 42 - 45 mark but the humidity is around 15 - 20 % it's like being in an oven
the sun is just so damn nasty it will burn within minutes, global warming and that whatchamacallit ozy layer
I watched the readout as I was coming off the paddock this arvo, centre of the paddock was 46, half way out was 44, out on the dirt road was 42, didnt think a stubble crop would affect the temp so much
we had the sister in laws brother down here last month for a wedding, he also lives in cairns, we struck a 38 day and he was grizzling something feirce, he was used to the tropical heat and not the dry heat of up here
we're gonna cop it again next week!

Personally I would rather have the hot dry heat, I know the hot sun can burn you in an instant but at least I can cover up and I can breathe, when it is humid I have a lot of trouble with asthma.

You bet DeBe. They were struggling to raise funds and interest in getting support to get a rescue boat the last time I was down there in '07. I was a member in Broome.
I've been seasoned to the tropics since '96, but it still gets intense when the humidity is above 85%.
Asthmatics do have problems with the heat and humidity. Sinus gets me when the humidity drops out, so I choke when I get down your way.
Pt. Lincoln isn't quite so extreme.
I'm hoping to head that way for Christmas, but it depends on the medicos in Brisbane.
