When they decide to drop the price of caravan transport to Tassie I may be more interested. To take car, caravan & ourselves over there would cost a small fortune. Also the poor Tassie caravan parks are suffering from the prices the Spirit of Tasmania charges. plus from the cancellation of the one that use to depart from Sydney. Maybe we should hassle the Tassie Gov & the Spirit of Australia about the benifits of an influx of caravan nomads & our money to their beautiful country
the spirit of Tasmania is currently offering the following
To celebrate the festive season why not take a summer cruise on Spirit of Tasmania?

well that's not as silly as it sounds, maybe if we got together as a "group", I wont use the term "club" as this puts some off, but if we sent a request as a member of the grey nomads then I am sure the company would offer us (the group) some discount
I will not do it again as I was accused of self indulgence and dirty deeds
but I will sign whatever to gain a discount for the nomads

G'Day All,
Hope I'm not out of line - if I am just tell me to pull my head in, but -
What about a joint lobbying effort including such groups as the ACC (they now number over 1,000 vans in their membership). Several other, large, caravanning groups (and dare I say it - forums) may also be interested in adding their voice to such an effort.
I'd certainly be happy to represent it to the ACC in my capacity as National Secretary.
Cheers Lazo

Last time I checked to get my 12.5 metres of Car and van across to Tassie it was cheaper to fly to NZ for 3 weeks.... And that was with a special running.... We could always try as a group.... Nothing to loose.

You could never be out of line with ideas like that Lazo. Mate, anything that will help all our lot is worth the effort of a good shot.
In my opinion....go for it!! Let's see what we can do!
Every other person gets something subsidised..............why not the Caravanning fraternity.
What do we need to do to get this thing off the ground??
Do the Tassie c/parks have a representative body?? They would probably come on board as it would be in their interests.

The Tasmanian Tourist body might be interested too??

ah now Tassie tourism I know for a fact would be very interested, they, in theory, represent the caravan park associations
another way maybe through the victorian or federal government to increase subsidys for "towed" and or "recreational" vehicles or even a "new" subsidy as "nation" building execise as part of the "reconstruction" of the aussie dollar and all that
after being lambasted for my previous efforts I am very loathe to approach them, but if nobody else will I will hold my hand up!
I feel this to be a winnable fight and one that could benefit many
Lazo you're not out of line, the larger the movement the greater the force, all ideas are welcome
just as a footnote our local member, Geoff Brock, is coming around home tonight for chrissy drinkys,
if it is acceptable to all and sundry, I may have a whisper in his ear to just place ideas and just gather information as to who to attack er!!! I mean lobby!

As far as I'm concerned go for it DaveO....and I speak for Ibbo too. (unfortuantely he can't be here as he is having his annual checkup to prevent the re-ocurrence of Saigon-Rose. But as soon as the umbrella treatment is over.....he'll be back).
If you know who to confront it makes it so much easier. I wouldn't have a clue but I'll help any way I can!!
If you any help........scream!!
I really can't see anyone on here objecting.............Every little bit help!!

Is nothing sacred with you Ducky?I promised not to mention your skin grafts that you had after Gnawing Nancy nearly ended your amourous ambitions when you and her Grandmother were found in a friendly engagement just down the road from Saigon-Rose's establishment, you know the place with all the bedrooms. What was it called?now I remember,"Nick Knack, your Paddy Wack"strange name for a Sailors haven from conflict.Umberella lol.brings tears to ones eyes just the thought of it,scrape, scrape and back in shape. The on Commanders report for failing to take due care and attention.Remember the Free Issues, round circles in the back of your pay book.Cheers.Ibbo.

Sorry Ibbo............it sort of slipped out.......and before you know it........I had typed it.
Mate........those skin grafts worked so well....can hardly see the scars now. Actually....if it wasn't because of the different colour and the fact that the surgeon put it on backwards....you would never know!! I was in pain for a while though. Took a while to get the hang of wee-ing again without sitting down.
I always thought that place with all the beds was a boarding school for young (and not so young) ladies?? I kept giving them money because I thought they couldn't afford electricity so they burnt those funny smelling candles.
Aahh.............the round rings.............yes!! frequently carried........seldomly used.....as you can attest to.
