Actually Dave, there are only five rows of lights on the van. The digital camera was on night setting and blurred the image a little. Looks almost as good in real life.

You're obviously not plugged in to a metered site.
It's always great to see people's set ups in van parks.
That's the Spirit! - all of them. Hick!

well even five rows of lights would have taken me hours, before we put our lights up this year I had to untangle them, hmm!! somebody about my size was in a hurry when packing them up from last year, 2 hours down
I had to then find the missing control boxes and repair lights various, 3 hours down, then we had visitors with a couple of coldies and that ended that day
we eventually got all the lights up but it took three days with visitors and "helpers" and mistakes and blown globes
yours looks pretty schmick!!

Guys you put the "Blackpool Illuminations" to shame Viz:
The Illuminations started with a display of 8 arc lamps back in 1879.
The event was so innovative it even preceded Thomas Edisons patent of the humble electric light bulb which didnt arrive until the following year.
In 1879 the Illuminations were described as artificial sunshine and 100,000 people came to see this first great light show.
Forty large tableaux holding more than 5,000 square metres in surface area are included in the display.
The equipment weighs more than 711,000 kilograms which is equivalent to 350 Blackpool trams.
Illuminations have been sold to Jeddah.
There are over a million lamps in the display.
There are more than 500 floodlights and spotlights.
In 1939 the lights were erected but never switched on because of the outbreak of war.
In the 1960's electronic controllers were pioneered in the Illuminations. Rope light or "linear light" as it was originally known was also pioneered here.
It takes 22 weeks to erect the Illuminations.
It takes 9 weeks to dismantle them.
Most of the display now operates on low voltage eg. 12v and 24v.
There are more than 100 miles of festoon strip strung between promenade poles and across the carriageway.
Cable and wiring in the display stretches more than 200 miles.
The Illuminations cost £2.4 million to stage.
The equipment itself is worth about £10 million.
In 2003 the Illuminations cut its electricity consumption by 11% using new technology.
Wind turbines at the Solarium on New South Promenade contributed to powering the llluminations for the first time in 2004.
In 2002 the display included a worlds first in exterior LED technology.

I hope the lights are approved for external use or you know who will read you the riot act.... reminds me of a Vera Lynn classic;
When the lights go on again all over the world And the boys are home again all over the world And rain or snow is all that may fall from the skies above A kiss won't mean "goodbye" but "Hello to love"
When the lights go on again all over the world And the ships will sail again all over the world Then we'll have time for things like wedding rings and free hearts will sing When the lights go on again all over the world
No, our van is not on fire. Too many lights on Xmas Eve put up after too many beers, rums and home made Baileys(yum). Alcohol is king.
