You could try a google search if you haven't already done this..
Enter the search in the format "my old song" + "my old artist" Note the use of the quotes (inverted commas). Include these in the search box.
Seeing that LPs came out in the late fifties, wouldn't you just search google for songs of the fourties and fifties, it's not brain surgery

Hi Milo,
do you know the song titles etc that your dad is looking for? I can see if i have them here.
I have 100's of 78's in the shed that i'm going to put in some sort of order one day. (ha ha. will probably never happen) My old "precedent" stereo and player blew a valve years ago and i haven't touched them since.

Hi milo. I have a collection of gramophones and 78s. A little over 3000 78 rpm records. I was a collector once. Elvis, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis ,Bill Haley are my favourites. Before you all laugh i bought three harmonica records for .50 cents each and have had an offer of $800.00 for each. There is some gold in my collection. Whats he chasing milo? maybe i have the original.

Milo Have a chat to Basil. I know he is away at the moment, but he posted a long time ago about recording 78's, and has 'on offer' a copy of the cd(s)
I can not remember which songs he had done at the time, but they were all off 78's. It is one of his many hobbies.

Hi Milo
Checked through about half about 2 weeks ago. Rest of them are buried under and behind the kids and g/kids junk. May not have time before we leave for Perth next Monday. I intend to have a major clean out when i get back. Looking at the old 78's the other day has rekindled my interest in wind up music and the old collection of records.
