OI have done a bit of research and have come up with Tekonsha Prodigy as the most recommended unit on all the forums. It is available in Ferntree Gully for around $150-00, is this a good price?? and how hard is it to fit yourself?? Would be pleased to hear any feedback, we plan to purchase them next week.

Hi Caron,
Can't give you any help from personal experience, maybe other GN forumers can help. Meanwhile check the following links:
Fitting the unit yourself will very much depend on how savvy you are when it comes to matters automotive electrical. It's a little bit more involved than just "plug it in and it's ready to go"

I wired mine and surprisingly they work. It depends on your level of mechanical skill a bit, not a really technically challenging job but if you can roll yourself up to work under the dash it will be a bonus. Also very important , the wiring must be sufficiently large to take the voltage to the back of the car and then van to give a full 12volts or things won't work as they should. Scratch around ExplorOz and I'm sure you will find all the relevant info.
