Yep! Place to be this time of the year.
I'll be heading that way early July....Cairns, Mission beach, Atherton Tableland etc, etc. I'll head up via the Leichhardt Highway to Gladstone. (bit of a dog leg into Gladstone but I have reason to go there)

Suddenly very nippy here in Perth. Just off to turn the electric blanket on for the first time this year. If only there was a 12V electric blanket!
Cheers, Tony

.. Hi all ..
Might cross your path too Jim .. Kilcoy in June .. Townsville in July and Palm Cove in August for 3 weeks .. Have a lot of flexibilty (timewise) between these Radio Club rallies and my sons wedding in August ..
Della .. I actually was born in PNG and never really learned to appreciate the cold weather .. never even walked through snow .. hehe ! Some years ago I took a trip into Qld and took ill after enjoying a few too many mangoes .. but keen to get back up there !
Tony .. I'm still really on the way back from a quick trip into lower WA .. then back via Kalgoorlie where we met "Bubs" and then we headed back easterly .. (travelled part time with "Jandas") Weather was still great and we actually managed to have tail-winds with both crossings of the Nullabor .. got colder and windier around Victoria .. was a great trip !
James .. Have been here a few times and quite like the place .. but you're thinking a 'beer' .. I'm thinking something a bit more heart-warming .. Jim Beam would be a good start I think .. Just pleased I wasn't staying at Oberon .. believe there to be a 'brass-monkey" repatriation centre there !
cheers !
