Rob was doing the neighbourly thing this morning while I did the washing and lent two of our correlle mugs to a couple that were vacating their cabin and waiting in the camp kitchen for their lift.
You guessed it...........they've gone and so are our mugs.
I know it's not a big deal financially, but they have set the score now, WE WON'T BE LENDING ANYTHING TO ANYONE EVERY AGAIN.\!!!!

Yep......you wonder why you bother sometimes !! disheartening. And makes you think twice about lending anything.
It's a shame cause most people are better than that, and are very grateful to help from others. Lucky these one's are in the minority. (I hope)

Ma dont let those low-lifes change you from being helpful to others... 90% of people would have returned your mugs and become your friends.
PS Should that be "low-lives"?

Hi Ma.
Only a couple of MUGS would steal a couple of mugs!!
Not nice & very petty, but when you see what people steal from the major stores etc. really makes you wonder where we are headed as a community. As we said before, no respect, no courtesy & no deterrent through the Court system.
Relax mate & have a couple of drinks. I hope you have something to drink out of!!!!

My mate here in Sydney is the Store Manager of a Maccas, he has refused to buy more coffe mugs, cups etc... for his cafe section because they disapear into thin air, almost llike they vapourise once they get coffee etc in them....It's the same story with the plates and saucers they use for cakes etc...
These people just do not have a sence of common decency, and THEY are the ones who shout loudest when the prices go up to cover the cost of replacing the stolen goods or in this case paper cups.
There was a story in the Queensland Regster a few years back about a couple who were caught stealing toilet paper from the council toilets, they used to go from toilet block to toilet block following the council guys collecting not only the paper but the deodorising blocks from the urinals as well, in the end it turned out that they had the cleaning contract for the council chambers and were double dipping so to speak. yoou really have to wonder what makes these people think this way, it cant be just greed.

Ma,
All I can say is Karma has a great way of paying people for their actions.
For your act of kindness it will reward you, for the inconsiderate couple that didn't return the mugs...........it will bite them on the bum

Did yoy know that corelle no longer make Mugs that the are actually either porceline or china, but not corelle, so if Ma had her correlle mugs stolen, she will not be able to replace with corelle.
If you go to a second hand shop or similar, as see true corelle mugs, buy them, store them. you wont be able to buy them new anymore

MA, we all feel the same way about these types, we should be able to cut off their oxygen supply. There is nothing they wont take, our son just had a concrete bulldog about 300-400mm high taken fron their front door.Shame it didn,t fall on their b@##$y head. We could,nt be that lucky could we.

Why would anyone help themselves to the cups or plates at places like Maccas or anywhere else for that matter.
The most I have ever taken are the little sugar catchets they put in your saucer. I don't use sugar generally but know the ones they have put in my saucer will be binned when my empty cups and saucers go back so I pop them in my bag.
I have a little tupperware container at home where I keep them all for just in case.

Many years ago I decided that "if you dont have it --neither do I" I came to this decision after loaning things to others that were less prepared and not getting them back , if at all. If its a roadside help I will use my gear , but only if it wont get damaged / abused helping some one less prepared.
