I believe that a Town in Victoria named Charlton is now a R V friendly Town and loves visitors......I am getting a list up ready for next years adventure.....Are there anymore in Victoria.......Marj I don't Echuca is one...Am i right?

I think the CMCA have a list. It's their project, to their credit.
Not sure of the link to their website, you can google it or we can wait for PeterD to find it for us! (only joking mate!)

I would imagine Echuca would be an RV friendly town welcome. Its a tourist town and full of caravan parks plus every corner you turn there is someone in a campervan or motorhome. As far as I know they are all most welcome, welcome.

Marj " I meant in the way free camping is allowed....As you know I go to Christies Beach every year.....One has too go Km down the road.....True or false.....I love Echuca Don't get me wrong.....I noticed at the Information Site that there is no sign that says No camping....I may do that. Then walk over to the Sportsman Club and Pick up a cool hundred or so on the Pokies.......Ha ha'

There is a park in Sutton Street just past the school and every Xmas we see one or two motorhomes park up there for a night. They've never been chased on but can't guarantee it.
They park betwen the front trees and the school boundary trees.
One year there were 3 there, all friends as they had set up in a circle and stayed a couple of nights. Flash motor homes too, the ones that have the lounge that comes out.
I know what you mean, Christies Beach is so far out. I did see a camper bus parked in the next block past the railway station yesterday, through the roundabout heading towards the bridge. Directly opposite the Sporties but on the other side of railway line.
Another place might be down the road by the soundshell in Moama, Left or right, there are lots of parking and I know of tradies who park there over night when there is a market the next day.
There is a market there on tuesday 28th.

I don't know about the info centre, Have seen plenty there during the day but haven't been past at night. Have seen campers parked in the back car park of the Moama Bowling Club overnight. Not sure if its allowed though.

Thanks R & S for that link... I had a quick look at it and the CMCA (I'm not a member as I'm a caravanner not a motorhomer) are to be commended for an excellent project. As are those towns that have "come on board".
These are obviously places that are only too happy to have GNs such as us as visitors and they deserve our patronage.
One town on the list I can recommend is Inverell (NW NSW). The Inverell Caravan Park is one of the best run parks I have stayed in. The park is reasonably priced, walking distance to the CBD, and run by an enthusiastic young couple. It has some drive throughs and some larger sites and many of the sites have double size slabs that one can park the van on.
There are two other parks in town and while I have no personal experience of them I'm told that these are well run parks too.

Cobram has a sign coming from Yarrawonga Yesterday that states RV friendly Town..After asking the Lady about Thompsons Beach staying overnight....He reply was we have Caravan parks for that sort of thing.....After 20 mins waiting for that answer...The staff were tied up doing Bookings for the rail and other stuff.....Information Booths have changes..I think that they are Booking agency's now....Anybody agree?

Jimbo - Don't think I do agree actually, we usually go to the info centre at every new town we stay at, and we have almost always had plenty of assistance and help. Often at smaller towns the centre is staffed by volunteers, and they can be so keen to let you know all about the town they are so proud of that it can be hard getting out of there!
At this time of year I think I would expect the info centres to be busier than usual, with all the extra tourists in town, and so a bit more patience might be required.
BTW, I don't think there is any camping permitted at Thompson's Beach, riverside camping is usually available on the other side of the bridge on the NSW side of the river, although with all the flooding they have had there this year it may not be open.
