Kununurra is a beautiful town. Then there's the Bungles. However, when travelling between these two, take the time to go to Wyndam. It has a wonderful history. A great little museum, but best of all, the Five Rivers Lookout. If you are dragging a van, leave it in town. It is an easy drive for ordinary cars, and campervans etc. Just like Mt. Wellington in Tassie, Castle Hill in Townsville, The Panorama, Tweed Valley NSW etc etc, the view is amazing. In fact, you can see for a fortnight in any direction. They tell me on a clear day, one can almost see Tassie. !!!!!????? Regards. Pipes

Gotta agree ... great view.
When we were there we had a competition to name all 5 rivers ...

WOT no cheating! that's how I get through life!
"Did" Kununurra (even had to cheat to check the spelling!), Wyndham, 5 Rivers, Bungle, Gibb River Road, Kurunjie Stock Route, etc several years ago. Awesome trip!

I lived in Wyndham about, ummm, yeah, that many years ago.We went back 5 years ago and stayed in the caravan park.Had a great stay.Went up to the lookout. When we lived there we used to go to the pictures ar the "meat works" in the Gully,we lived in town for a bit then moved out to the three mile.My mom was on the committee that pushed to get the swimming pool built! We swam regularly in Parrys Creek and the Grotto and camped at Parrys Lagoon.Ahhhh those were the days!!
