Hi Phil ..
Thanks mate .. I was thinking (and may still do it) of stopping in there on my way while travelling the south of WA .. Local knowlege suggested caution due to certain 'ill-feeling' at the moment towards visitors stopping overnight there .. I'd say probably due to a minority that's stuffed it up for the majority .. Might have to check it out next time around !

I am suprised about that too Jonathon, I stayed at Parry Beach about 12 monts ago and all seemed ok, there is a caretakers house there who look after bookings and the camp. I can't say I met any permanents there (other than the caretakers), so not sure what they are talking about. If you wanted to be away from the main camp area there is also an overflow parking area on gravel, no shade, power or water but a short walk to the toots and showers, some motorhomes and bigger rigs use that as they have more room to manouver etc, and you don't have to watch out for overhanging trees like in the campground.
Having said that I have seen some big caravans in there.
Professional fishermen have a camp close to the main tourist camp, so maybe someone has upset them? Denmark Tourist Bureau is worth a visit and can give you more info on the situation if you ring them, the camp comes under their shire (Denmark).
