Last september the little town of Kandanga, Qld, located between Gympie & Kenilworth, not for from where the Gympie muster is held ,opened up a little RV Park.
Much of this town & surroundings has been bought by the government when they proposed daming the Mary river,as a result many left etc, now they are trying to restablish this town & get on with life.
The camp area has eight sealed parking bays with grass area's as well, Across the road there is a pool, tennis court, kids play area, bbq with table Under cover, toilets, & I must say they are spotless, even the paper seal strip across when cleaned.
Just up the street there is the INFO, post office, a coffee shop is under way, hotel, bowling club, take away snack bar, fuel, what else do you need.
On Wed & Sat there are markets that coincide with the arrival of the old steam train, the valley rattler, from Gympie to Imbil, there were 110 people on the train today, must be some travellers in Gympie.
This is a very quite spot, good for time out if needed.72hr stop but they said no one is counting. Do not confuse this one with the day use park listed in the camps book. I have taken some photos & will post them later as I am strugling for service on here, phone is ok.

G'day JC. I've made a note of that too.
Been to the Gympie Muster stacks of times. Haven't visited Kandanga yet but it's now on the list.

Kadanga sounds great, have written that one into the notebook. Speaking of good butchers, last year we were at Baralabra, staying at the Neville Hewitt Weir 440 in Qld section of the Camps book, they have a butcher who grows his own meat, the pork is about the best I have every tasted, and his hams are to die for. I think he was open only a couple of days a week. I don't think there is a time limit to stay there, heaps of room and some people make it a yearly stopover. They had been there for 3 mths.
cheers

I found some pictures on this caravaners forum. Looks good to me.
There is a central open fire place going in next week , the pool has showers when open, they are considering having the shower section all times with a coin operated system.
The female butcher is still there , the bowls club & hotel have meals on friday nights, & yes, the camp area is free.
