Ok, Well we have been here a month, nice little county city. My wife got a job in an age care place and started today after waiting 3 weeks for police clearance, she loves this type of work. I have now got my second job, 1st was meant to be only 2 days on the Albany Hospital construction site working as a labouror, I reckon I walked at least 5km a day, work wasnt hard but the walking was long. Ended up doing 3 days a probable could have stayed there for the duration it seems but I had earier applied for a Job as Night Manager/sercurity at one of the local parks. Well the deal was sealed on that today so start day is thursday. Its hard to keep travelling when you like a spot so we are staying for a while
cheers

Albany is certainly a nice area, always plenty to do, even having an early morning swim as its still not cold this time of the year. Talking to one elderley lady who swim all year round but puts a wetsuit on in August. Would like to be here in 2014 as they are doing a reinactment of the first diggers to go to world war 1, think that would be a special time. The Kalgan Queen is really worth doing, trip up the kalgan river and the young guy that does tells stories and recites poems between pointing all the birds and local history. Not to be missed cheers blaze

Albany is nice, we stayed at an Oz park on the King River, beautiful spot about 8kms out of town.
Albany gets very busy on the roads in town but still a beautiful spot. I prefer Esperance over Albany, a lot quieter and lay back.
Glad your are enjoying your time there. Yes Albany was a main embarking port for the Diggers in WW1 enroute to Gallipoli and other places. I haven't seen the statue of Attaturk perhaps on my next visit.

G'day Blaze. In all the years I was driving interstate, the work often took me to Albany. I just "dropped in" a few months ago and moved into the Ka;lgan River caravan park. What a magic place. With the river a stones throw away, and no traffic noise, I just might stay awhile longer. Regards to all. Pipes

We loved that park on the Kalgan River, too, Pipes - enjoyed watching the 'roos grazing on the golf course as well!
