We went to Melbourne for the football today, heaps of vanners on the road, heading north. They have the right idea. Will be us one day.

All heading to sunny Qld. I rang the Elliot heads CP yesterday to get prices. He said plenty of room at the moment but won't stay that way as the grey nomads are on their way. I said Yes I know, I'm one of them.

I'm heading south from Moranbah, currently resting at Dubbo. I had 2 nights at Dalby, and it rained there all night last night. I was surprised at the number of vans on the road already, mostly heading north, with a mix of registration plates. Oh, the A Vanners from across Aust are heading to Maroochydore for a gathering. There were about 15 SA "A Team" in Dalby last night, but there will be 250 at the Sunshine Coast event. Now that would be something to behold. I have taken pictures but haven't downloaded them yet. I've been too busy driving and bouncing, and now I'm too tired. The roads are rough and there is a lot of roadworks to negotiate. If you're travelling this way, just take your time.

CG, where did you stay your two nights at Dalby. I didn't see any good freecamps when I came through the other week, or did you use a c/p? and where.

Seems like thousands of vans and motor homes are on the road heading north on the Stuart Highway! And a good percentage of them have Victorian number plates.

I remember years ago it was said the the best thing to come out of Victoria was the Hume Highway.
(I wonder if that'll work, the football post didn't )

I didn't free camp in Dalby, I stayed in the Tourist Park by the river. I only free camp with the truck along the way to the delivery destination. There are plenty of free campers out there though.
