The navigator and I are off in the morning for 9 week trip to Darwin. By gees I've been looking forward to this for such a long time. Since getting our new van February last year, we have done several trips for a week or so here and there, but nothing like this one. Hope to free camp all the time, and free load on a few rellies at a couple of spots. Going via Emerald where our son lives, which we will probably do on our own, as there is only really one free camp at Nindigully Pub and not too many vans travel this route, but from there on, hope to run into heaps of nomads at the freebies along the way to Darwin. No fixed plan on the way up, or the way back, but may come back down the east coast till Bundy, and then cut inland to home. Wow, it's really happening. I'm out of here.

Good luck ... Enjoy
I stayed at Nindi Gully back in the 60's when we were flooded in for a couple of weeks. Spent the days playing darts with the locals who managed to get in .. all roads dirt in those days. Slept in the hall next to the Pub. Still have one of the many Dimple Whiskey bottles that we emptied.
Safe travels & lets know how you go.

We stayed at Nindigully a couple of weeks ago, the night after the B & S Ball. Had a great night.
