The child bride and I decided to try house sitting, we couldnt believe our luck with the first job we got, it is a B&B the owners are going overseas and they want us to stay in the guest cottage for a month while they are away, only have to feed the dogs, keep a eye on a few cows and mow the grass around the main house and the cottage.
Ohhh my goodness, I am really starting to get itchy feet, wheres my van, wheres my van
Might go and sleep under the truck tonite

WOW, Some have the life & to think I'm hearing typing away inside my cardboard box under the bridge awaiting my van (very patiently I might add)
We just picked up our new van and were quite happy to stay in it while we were there but they wouldn't hear of it
Congratulations! Oh what a feeling! It looks like mine on the outside, but I bet yours looks better on the inside. As for the house sitting - that's the guest house? Book me in. That's luxury to the max.

They try not to look lilly, but I see them glancing from the corner of their eyes, some of them seem to get very excited indeed. If they are really lucky I even put the window down and give them a little wave

I tried the housesitting gig several years ago. Registered with a company, paid too much for the privelege, and never got one sit! Not a one! What a waste of money that was!
I've had a few friends ask me here and there, but I'm happy to stay here where my family is, and do my trips.
