Thanks for the warning BB, I'll just catalogue that with the other predictions of: Crude oil running out, Ice age approaching,(from back in the 70's) onto Planet alignment tearing the earth apart, Y2k bug, Hale Bop (The Meteor) etc. etc. etc.
Life's short anyway so enjoy it while you can, do that trip, buy that Go-kart, take the plunge.....
I've also heard that Mice are taking over Australia......

The Mayan calendar stops on the 21 December 2012 - why it chose this date to stop after so many centuries is anyones guess - But I know if the world does end on that date My wife is going to be reallllllly pissed - her birthday is the next day...... Some forecasters say there will be large surges on the sun which will wipe out our ways of producing Electricity or something like that...

I spent the year of 1964 TERRIFIED because someone had said the world was going to end, then. As a child, I believed what I had heard. Someone should hold these sort of scum people accountable. They leech off poor souls looking for something that is missing in their lives. These sort of people are predators!!!!!!

Well when the world ends I certainly want to be here in Queeensland - because everything here happens 10 years after the rest of the world....

A couple of documentaries on the History or Discovery Channel around the time of that Hollywood film 2012 was released (still havent seen it) peaked my interest in those Year 2012 predictions/prophecies.
A Google search on "2012 predictions" or "2012 prophecies" provides quite interesting reading IMHO but then just love all that stuff the ancients, eg Mayans, Aztecs, Egyptians etc, achieved in their time way back then.
Fascinating stuff, keeps the old grey matter working.

The year 2008 marked the last of Gods warnings to mankind and the beginning in a countdown of the final three and one-half years of mans self-rule that will end by May 27, 2012.
On December 14, 2008, the First Trumpet of the Seventh Seal of the Book of Revelation sounded, which announced the beginning collapse of the economy of the United States and great destruction that will follow. The next three trumpets will result in the total collapse of the United States, and once the Fifth Trumpet sounds the world will be thrust into WW III.
The Seven Trumpets of the Seventh Seal, as well as the Seven Thunders of the Book of Revelation (which the apostle John saw but was restricted from recording) are revealed in this book.
Many of the prophecies of the Seven Thunders are being fulfilled and will continue to increase in strength and frequency throughout this final three and one-half years of man's self-rule on earth.
And it goes on and on and on

You guys crack me up. We are almost on the same wave length sometimes, and then someone goes off on a completely different tangent, and the context is completely lost, but very funny. Keep up the good work fellow GN's. I love it! There must have been global warming at least once before, because once upon a time there was an ice age. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Or the Ukraine...they're 50 years behind...but then again, they already had the nuclear fallout thingy from Chernobyl, so probably not safe there either. And Marj, I don't know about it being safe in NZ either! Too many earthquakes!

Thats why I moved here Beth, didn't like the earthquakes and if it goes under no where to run, One strip of high ground, ranges, through the whole country will be sticking out of the water like a lot of little craggy islands. The rest will be under the sea.
