just wondering how it is possible to catch up with nomads when most do not have grey nomad stickers or even your avatar name on your vans.
I have gone past hundreds of vans and even in parks or stops and would not know if you have been on the forum or not.
I have a big Dun Wurkun sticker on the front and rear of the van and hopefully some of the grey namads will see it and say hello.

Yes, I know Ken. My Happy Wanderer sticker is so small on the front but it is purple. When I'm stopped and there's other caravanners around I will walk right around the van hoping for a sign. Haven't had one yet. I do have a Grey Nomad sticker both front and back as well.

We have Grey Nomad stickers on the back of the van and tug. Management, who paints craft has hand painted a caravan park scene with Pete and Gail above, and it sits in a prominent place in the front window of the van when we are parked.

We have the sticker on the Hawk but not the new van. Haven't seen one on a van anywhere since we have been on the road and we look hard at each one.

I'm not into stickers and names on my own rig (just a personal thing). That's the reason I use a picture of my rig as my avatar so that any forum members may recognise it. The picture is deliberately a rear view so that the checkerplate tool box is visible as an identifying feature. If you see me pull into a park or campsite any time please come up and introduce yourself (especially if it's happy hour).

Maybe we should get a little flag it is more noticable than a sticker just a thought.

I have GN stickers on van and tug and my spare wheel covers have that picture of Cruisin' Granny. I'm looking for letters to put across the top of the windscreen, outside the windscreen wiper sweep, of course, to stay legal. I also fly grey/silver ribbons on the aerial.
I never thought at the time I joined this forum, I should have used the names I have on my car and trailer...Lucy & Gypsy.
And I now have my grey nomad sticker on the back of both as well.

We have the sticker on the van and car but like most on the site haven't seen anyone else with them on and always keep an eye open for them Helena.

If you're out there when I am, at the same time, in the same place I'm pretty likely to spot you. Now, with all the flashing on my car you'll probably see me before I see you. I won't have the van if I'm on the job. You'll have to excuse me if I don't stop, but you can call me up on the UHF Ch 40.

We fly the grey (or siver) ribbons on our aerial as well as the stickers. If nothing else it helps find the car in the carpark!!!!

You've been negligent in your duty Goingsoon. Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk. Letting the side down .... mmmm mmmmm punishable by unlimited bevvies at happy hour, should the occasion arise.
With the beacons on the roof I couldn't lose my tug if I wanted to. Also makes it less attractive to would-be car thieves, I hope.

Talking about "should the occasion rise" CG some time early in summer seems a good time for a GN get together somewhere

I do consider the GN stickers to be just a little to small .. They are fine as an 'identifier' of a member but only once you are within close proximity of the vehicle either by a slow drive by or on foot .. My own transportation does display my affiliation with certain groups and can be seen from a greater distance, but I do also make a point of going out of my way to see folks if that is my choice, as many here do too .. If one is a member here, then it is not hard to contact another to make some arrangement that will be convenient to both parties ..
This is no reflection against our excellent hostess (Cindy) whatever .. but simply my own opinion !

we do geocaching and I have a TB sticker on the van and 4x4, in geocaching world our van and 4x4 are considered to be travel bugs, and I have had several other cachers log onto the site saying they have seen the travel bug on the rear of both.
we also have the GN sticker on both van & 4x4.

We have a sticker on the back of the van and have only come across one other GN since we started our travels in November. The majority of people we have come across have all done their big travels and are now only doing short trips. Grandchildren seem to play a big part in this!!

Have to admit I left my stickers at home I was so excited and nervous at the same time about heading off I completely forgot about them but I'm easily recognised not too many A'van Sportliners around being towed by a Suburu sedan.
I'm currently in Cairns and will be here until Tuesday then off to Port Douglas for a couple of weeks and would love to catch up and say hi to others on this site, I've met lots of grey nomads along the way but not one from this forum
