Man, what a trip through Victoria and into Melbourne yesterday!!
Have had a great trip down the Newell from sunny, reasonably warm Qld, but of course the further south we got, the colder it got - couldn't work out why we were the only two vans heading south and every second vehicle heading north was a vannie!!!
From Parkes to Jerilderie on Monday was hairy enough with the cross winds, and fuel consumption was down, but have to say that yesterday was worse, and to add to the trek to the other side of Melbourne, it was raining as well.
Thankfully we were not going on the ferry to Tassie last night as the winds were on a scale similar to a category 3 cyclone!!! Hopefully by Friday night the winds will have dropped and it will be a relatively smooth sailing.
Off for a day trip to Phillip Island today to visit the Vietnam Vet Museum - quite looking forward to checking it out - great day out for Pete for his birthday.

Welcome to wild and windy Melbourne!!!! I hope the weather improves a great deal before you make that trip to Tassie!!! Have done it once, years ago, on the Devil Cat with 4 metre waves - now I know why they called it the Devil Cat!!! Thank god they retired that boat!!! Anyway, enjoy Phillip Island - it's a nice place, but will be very windy and cold there too

Hope you have a cabin on the Tas ferry - sharing spaces with the public at large is not fun on a rough crossing.
