Good grief!!! That doesn't sound right. Unless they fell sorry for me insuring my 80 Series. I don't pay anything like that. I also surprised at such a huge difference between policies. Is there much difference between the excess and any other conditions?

Try API.(Australian pensioners insurance.) I only have 3rd party insurance, and is about $12 a month to insure me from damages to other vehicle and people. They also will pay if my old hilux is stolen.I find them excellent.

You certainly did your homework. I'm impressed. You took nothing for granted. It sounds like a great deal. I hope you never have to use it.

I hope you still read the fine print. Alot of these policies won't cover you if you are off road and they all have different intereptations of the term OFF ROAD.
I have a Policy with TCIS & they are virtually one of the only mobs that actually cover you if you are completely off road, lets say in a paddock on a farm somewhere or down some bog hole or whatever......most of the others will laugh at that.

G'day Jack, yes the fine print tells it all ( if you can read it!) however a fanatical Prado mate insured his for agreed value including accessories for $364.00.
Online with G I O. I had a similar policy with same company for 2010 Triton and with complete cover $380.00. We live in different area's hence part of the price difference etc.
After this years premium increase (to pay for floods apparently) it increased $90 so I switched to Budget online and saved $100.
Dont forget to ask for a customer loyalty bonus as well if they want to keep your business. Its important that we all seek comparision quotes and not the one sent by our current insurers.
cheers
