Well, I've got a plug for the Good Guys....no , not the retail chain, but wait for it............Rockingham CentreLink Office. I guess like everybody , I had heard horror stories about Centre Link and thier stuff ups. Recently retired, I was not looking forward to beauracratic horn locking, so with some trepidation I trundled down, got in the queue and waited. Not too long, about 30 minutes. At the counter , I explained my need, was given a few eplanatory brochures and invited to attend again when I had filled in the required forms. A few hours downloading extra forms(lol) and a few more hours chasing documents and filling in the required boxes. A bit wiser this time, I arrived before opening time(0800am)3rd in line. Five minutes later I'm at the interview desk, 30minutes later all complete. Two days later a call from Canberra for additional info. 24 hours later another call from Camberra to inform me that my age pension had been approved. I waqs completely astounded as both these calls were well after eastern states closing time. I found that the staff were very helpful . Making sure you have the relevant paper work all sorted and complete certainly helps. Being courteous and non abusive also. So to Rockingham CentreLink........well done and thank you!

Here's a story about one of the good folks. On a cruise recently we met a couple & then spent a few weeks in Perth in their company. As soon as he heard about our bad luck with our motorhome he was on the phone asking did we need some money. Of course we said no but the thought was much appreciated.

Lets know if any of us can be of any help CCB, when you feel up to it perhaps you can tell us what happened, but only if you feel like doing so.
Not being insensitive here but need to get back to the topic. With my recent purchase of my Hi Ace, there were a couple of things that should have been attended to that weren't, and at first the dealer didn't want to know about it, but after some advice from Consumer Affairs and some negotiations in writing, they eventually came to the party, so one win there.
Scammers too are a big problem these days as well, they are out there and there seems to be more and more from overseas and is catching some people out. The old saying if it appears to be too good to be true it usually is.......
Recent events have shown me that these people are still around and always will be.
I was reminded of a couple of lines from my "bible", Desiderata;
"Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desiderata
