Hi all, Les and I (Donna) are beginning to plan our retiring journey to who knows where and who cares how long. We are looking at purchasing a 21' van with a Toyota Landcruiser to pull it. We have started looking and plan to go to the caravan show in Brisbane next year. I was wondering if there were any suggestions about purchasing and preparing to travel in a van. I'm a fair bit techy and Les is researching also. I would love to hear any advice or comments to make to beginnings easier. We are looking to head off in about 12 months (or sooner if possible). I know that sounds a world away but I'm sure it will pass quickly.

Welcome Les and Donna. That gives you 12 months to read back over heaps of hints and advice on here that goes on for pages. Check Techies Corner for advice on anything you may need to buy to go into your van from awnings to generators. The general forum has plenty of does and don'ts including mistakes made by a lot of us along the way. It really is the best way of learning as there are plenty of helpful people on here who are all learning by their mistakes, and by others who have helped them along the way.

You can also use the Search button at the top of here too L & D. Just type in a key word for anything that you want to know and if it's on here you will be able to find it there.
That doesn't mean to say that you can't ask more questions. Ask away and you will be surprised at the response..............don't say I didn't warn you............this site becomes addictive......
Oh, welcome to the mad house all that's required is a sense of humour. Have fun.

Welcome from me as well, Les and Donna - as Ma says it can be a bit of a madhouse - we sometimes get off the original topic, and meander all over the place - but it is fun and quite addictive!!!
