Next, I have just had a lovely tea, Bacon, Eggs, Tomatoes, Asparagus and Avocado. Very nice.

Got rice and pork sausages for tea- might not sound like much, but I love it.
Have been working on the current crochet project - circular tablecloth in pineapple pattern. makes my elbows and shoulder sore though so will give up in a little while, and might get back to my family tree for an hour or so.

Had my hair cut today. Asked for the short and spiky I usually get for summer. Got talking, didn't take much notice. Got nothing left, can't even get a comb through it, thats how short it is. Never mind, two weeks between a bad and a good haircut, won't have to go back for a while for another one.

Well we don't know what we are having for tea. A nice couple from Atherton are camped in the park tonight and are cooking tea and bringing it up to the house. Can be lucky sometimes.

went shopping with my sisiter the other day, and said I wanted a new hair colour - try this one she says, will look nice on you.....
.... even while wet it was on the auburn side of fire engine !!!!

Rosie, thats funny. I've let mine grow out, used to be all colours of the rainbow, but decided if I want to travel will be too hard to get the bottle out every 4 weeks. I used to do the Auburn and loved it, Blondes, Golds. All a nice change. Don't worry what it looks like. I just think, Well I don't know unless I look in the mirror so don't look in the mirror. Pork sausages and rice sound nice for tea although I don't eat sausages any more since I had my gall bladder out.

Had some beautiful steaks on bbq. Very tastie. Tomorrow is lamb curry...marinating in the slow cooker already. Just need to turn it on tomorrow.

You have been busy Gordon, tomorrow already sorted out as well. I wouldn't have a clue.
My choice was made after I was given 4 bunches of asparagus and a bag of tomatoes. Have put the rest of asparagus in freezer after blanching them.

Went and fetched Mum from nursing home. Shes not up to much these days but she sure likes the pokies. Gives her a nice lift once week. Don't know how long she will be well enough to go.

We're having tuna patties, had lamb chops, mash and beans last night and made sure there was enough mash to make fish patties tonight. I'll do some salad and also parsley sauce to have over the patties. Then there'll be some patties left over to have on sandwiches tomorrow for lunch - in my kitchen left-overs can have more lives than a cat!

Rosie, I'm crocheting a bed rug each for my grandkids up in Qld. Ashlyn, shes 12, I'm doing hers in stripes of purples and pinks and whites, I call it a licorice allsorts rug. Connah he's coming up 3, I'm doing his in multi colours of bottle green, and tan browns with a touch of white and maroon. Looks really nice for a boys room. They call it a camouflage colour. Promised daughter here I would do one for her bubs to be born, in Red and Black for Essendon, thats if he takes the same interest in his dads favourite team. They are in a pattern of 4 trebles to make a shell.

Thats lovely ChiChi. Did you have coffee and cake while you were out. I'm doing the mother and daughter thing tomorrow. Daughter asked if I would like to go up town with her tomorrow to do a bit of shopping. I certainly didn't say no, we don't often have that opportunity.

Beautiful warm and sunny here today and I had the day off!! took my van in and had the auto transmittion oil and filter changed, noticed after my last weekend away, oil was to high, and smelt burnt so thought better get that sorted. I no longer colour my hair either, stopped originally just to annoy my boss.. when the tiniest bit of grey would show he'd say I'd need to get it coloured.. just because he colours his... tell me how to do my job not a problem, but no right to tell me I have to colour my hair... don't get paid enough for that!! Also reminder for us all to keep an eye out for each other, and neighbours, sister in laws neighbour passed away, probably on weekend but only found today after they noticed he didn't put his bin out.. so sad.

Thats why its so quiet wombat. Was wondering where everyone was. That why I thought I would liven it up a bit. Headnhome, thats sad and has happened here a couple of times. A large area of units, takes up a whole block. Know of two at least who weren't found for a few days after they died. The little area where my unit is we keep an eye out for each other. My neighbour has a key and if my blinds are not up by a certain time he would come and investigate. We look the block over each day and question each other if someone hasn't been seen that day and they should have been.

Yes. She likes her coffee. Have to be careful about diabetes with cakes though. My sister and I also usually visit her every day for about an hour each and she gets about 3 or four outings a week. Has cancer along with crippling arthitis, diabetes, heart problems and beginings of dementia but shes still willing to give it a go. Just turned 87.

Hi everyone, cooked roast chicken in turbo oven tonight, they do come out so moist, mashed potato gravy and zucchini, hubby said that was delicous, so must have been okay. I still color the hair do it myself just not ready yet to be grey, and can't stand the growing out part would look so awful for sooooo long, we are all vain creatures I suppose or maybe just I am.

I know what you mean Pauline. I got mine cut really short last year when regrowth started to show, so I didn't have to go through too much of a growing out stage. The hairdresser today said its a really pretty grey, so it can't look too bad.

I had my hair done by my personal hairdresser .. a number 4 all over & a number 2 up the sides. Unable to spike it though.
Interesting day today in the CBD at a Financial Review Seminar .. Advice the same as it has always been .. stick to your strategy!!! Diversify & take a long view!
What's changed is that early in the piece, around 10 yrs ago, we used to get lots of wine & hot & cold served dishes. Now we get a buffet of sandwiches, crossants coffee, & coke in jugs! plus some nice sweets. We used to get free books on lifestyle & stuff .. now we get to buy them at a 'reduced' price.
But then what the hell, we get the opportunity to meet & socalise with good friends & it only costs $1.78 pp each way on the bus.
ps. the speakers are invariably excellent & today was no exception.
Dinner tonight was the second sitting of a great shepherd's pie that only SWMBO can craft.
We've done the census on line and agreed that in 99 years people can see what Cupie & SWMBO said.

tea tonight was leftover sweet and sour drumsticks from in the freezer with vegetable couscous.
hair well it gets a dip in the dye pot about twice a year usually for special occasions. The hairdresser does it as it's nice to get pampered.Without the dye my hair has been described as having natural high lights.( grey ones)
I am really just on the computer to do the census but have ended up on here. This forum is made from a giant magnet i think!!

Marj, I laughed when I read about your too short haircut. It wasn't a nasty laugh....it just made me remember my experience.
Two weeks ago, I decided to have my hair cut in a different style. I didn't think it looked too bad but..... After leaving the hairdressers, I ran into a friend who kept looking at my hair. When I asked if he liked it, he said, "Take heart from the fact that it will grow".

I had my head shaved a few years ago - to raise money for cancer
Never again- was hot and cold at the same time. Took almost 12 months to grow back into any reasonable shape.
What was worse, people kept coming up and rubbing their hands across the stubble as it grew back. I ended up charging the $1 for a "grope" and raised almost another $1000.

Well I've just finished tea, chicken and rice-a-riso, have done the census on line, earlier on got a call from the hospital saying that I've been booked in for a colonoscopy in October, something to look forward to and get excited about.

Well Ladies, you're not the only ones with short hair. Mine goes to the No2 comb , that way I get some hair from ALL over my head. Saves on shampoo as previously mentioned. Tea tonight, cold corned silver side which was cooked last nite in the eco pot. Bought to the boil with a dollop of balsemic vinegar and 4 corns of cloves for 20 minutes , removed from heat source , into the outer pot and left for 3.5 hours. Ahhhh, magnifico. Tonite with mash potatoes, english spinach and kent pumpkin. Tomorrow, a la carte dinner with my youngest grandson(13 yo) and family

Went into the cinema this afternoon and saw the film Red Dog was great then came home and settled down to some family history when I come off the computer will go and work on my bobbin lace making a dress for a Christmas Angel then it will be bed for me. After reading all of the posts, I've decided that our different dinners all sound delicious.
As for the weather, our days here (80 kms West of Brisbane) are beautiful. Sunny and 22 - 24 degrees. The overnight temps. are something else though. Got down to 1 deg. last night and 0 deg. expected for tonight.
Not like me to have an early night but I think I'll climb into my lovely warm bed with the e-reader before it gets too much later.
