We are slowly moving towards heading off on our lifestyle change, due to pick up our Kimberley Kamper in just over 1 week (can't happen soon enough for me!)
We've been told that we need to get insurance which will cover us for offroad use/river crossings etc. Is there a company that specialises in this? Or do we just go with the usual, currently have our home/cars etc insured with AAMI.
Thanks in advance.

I can;t answer this one for you, but the way I see it a Kimberely Kamper is a dedicated off road 4x4 camper. There for any company that is prepared to insure it for you should accept what it is & where it will be used .Just my thoughts.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your lifestyle adjustment. You could try CIL for insurance. It's exclusive caravan and the like insurance. If you're in the senior department you could also try APIA, Australian Pensioners Insurance Assoc. As Just Cruisin' notes, it's a reputable camper trailer known for its durability, so I hope someone takes it on. All the best and safe travels.

Mine is covered by APIA. Very friendly and was a breeze to sign up. Was good to hear them ask was the camper fitted with a fire extinguisher. Something that many might overlook.

we insured with APIA the 1st year we had our van, only because they gave us $10,000 cover for contents in the van, at renewal time they change the rules and made the contents $3,000 needlest to say we dropped them and changed our insurance but could only get $5,000 coverage for contents.

Yeah Wombat, what's with that? I have all my wordly goods in my van and tug and that's all I'm worth according to the insurance mob. Not much to show for a life time of gut busting. But I'm happy on the inside.
