Don't share a lottery ticket with me this month - must have kissed a chinaman because negative stuff is clinging to me like glue !!!!
In under 4 weeks have had a death in the family, a family member very ill with diabetes, a friend diagnosed with dementia, had a tooth abcess, then tooth extraction - a week later chipped another tooth.
Then S-i-L lost his job.
A $1300 repair bill for the car, immediately followed by an additional $900 for a roadworthy etc in Victoria - then a mirror fell from the wall in the bathroom destroying the vanity and some tiles, repair cost > $4000.
Then last evening hot water system failed, new one somewhat more than $1000.
My horoscope today "Things may not have appeared too rosy regarding a recent financial issue, but today shows the possibility of something shifting in this area. Plans to take a journey are put into action before somebody changes his/her mind."
Maybe should start packing before the money spring runs totally dry !!!!!

Dontcha' hate it when you go through periods when you wake up and wonder and almost fear.... "what will happen today"?
I'm sorry that you are having such a rough trot.
Maybe you do need to buy a lottery ticket to see if you can change your luck.
Or...you could follow your horoscope and take a journey...
Whatever you decide to do...hope that things get better soon.

Thanks TravelBug, I guess everyone goes through rotten patches- maybe the planets are aligned in the wrong way or something !
I think a journey might be just right- get away from it all for a while..... but any excuse is good for wandering around this great land

Hell, what a rough trot! Thought I was jinxed or something with a few recent events, but nothing compared with what you are going through.
Hope when you get mobile everything can be left behind for awhile and you have a good break.

More than one chinaman, that is some bad luck you have had.
Wife always says that the bad things in life are there so we can appreciate the good things that life offers.
Hope the luck changes.

As they say , these things are sent to try us; I;m still trying to work out just how many times we have to be tried. Some times it feels like every day like you are experiencing at the moment.Hope it all comes good for you soon.

It's all that mirror's fault. There has to be an upside, but I can't think of one just now. I hope your luck turns around for the better tomorrow.

Thanks everyone.
It's just a rough trot, but it makes me wonder why all of these things happen together. While I did realise lots of negative stuff was happening right now, it wasn't until I began to list it all that I was amazed by just how much there actually was!!
Still, I do get up each morning, and don't have to wonder why - I love being alive.... much better than the alternative.

From every negative we find a positive - just think how it would have been if you had been some remote place and these things happened - how much worse would that have been? I am sorry for your loss, and your rellies illness - but one way to look at this is as you say, get up every morning and appreciate what you do have, not what you don't have.

Apparently everything is sent to try us. I'm always thankful when I can put both feet on the floor and take the first awake breath of the day in the morning. After that every day is a good day. When I feel a bit off and down, I think about those that are not as well off or comfortable as I am and my "down" goes away. The only problem then is I feel guilty for feeling bad when it wasn't so bad after all.

Don't despair Rip & Rosie. We have just been through a tough expensive period but are safely back on the road. We decided to be thankful that it's only the machines that were going bust & NOT us. So if you've got your health that's the most important thing. Hope all becomes smooth sailing for you soon Cheers
